The film will introduce a new cast of characters and will center on East High Wildcats' cross-town rivalry with the West High Knights.
What's next? More millions of dollars added to the $2 BILLION this franchise has already brought into the Walt Disney Company.

It's a very smart move to return to DC, the feature was made with the original cast intact, the 4th will not be. The most famous name first time around was Ashley Tisdale, only because she was a regular on an exisiting DC series. The rest had few notable credits and became stars. Not unlike the cast of 'Friends' when Courtney Cox was the most well-known due to 'Family Ties.'

It isn't much of a risk to "start from scratch" by continuing this series. Very few new ventures have the benefit of worldwide success attached to their brand names. The worldwide DC audience will watch even for curiosity sake. The 'HSM' films were each made for relative peanut-sized budgets and have ridiculously and impressively over-delivered.

Walt Disney didn't invent the concept of over-marketing a product(s). But he sure did a great job of taking a shot at it. Or do you belive they should've stopped making Mickey Mouse cartoons and merchandise decades ago because they were too successful? It's Show Business.
