Former COO of Disneyland Resort Paris to be new Disneyland Resort President

George Kalogridis who was once Senior VP of Disneyland Resort Operations (2000-2002) and most recently CEO of Disneyland Resort Paris is the new Disneyland Resort President.

George Kalogridis, who previously oversaw Anaheim theme parks’ operations, today took over as the new president of the Disneyland Resort — the largest private employer in Orange County, Disney announced today.

Kalogridis, 55, is replacing Ed Grier, who announced his retirement last week and had his last day Friday.

Kalogridis most recently worked as the chief operating officer for the Disneyland Resort Paris.
But he served at the Anaheim resort at a crucial time — serving as senior vice president of Disneyland Resort operations from 2000 to 2002 when Disney’s California Adventure and Downtown Disney opened.
Kalogridis was brought in specifically for the addition. Now, California Adventure is in the middle of a $1-billion expansion, which began two years ago.

“I am thrilled to be returning to Disneyland, particularly during this exciting time of significant expansion,” said Kalogridis in a prepared statement.

“I look forward to working with the cast who make the magic for our guests every day and partnering with the Orange County community to ensure the Anaheim Resort Area continues to thrive,” he said.

Hopefully George will bring some much needed guidance and personality to Anaheim.

Since this is the guy who helped create DCA, I'm now worried about the future of Disneyland.

In his defense, in 2000 DCA was already being constructed and had been designed.

Re: Former CEO of Disneyland Resort Paris to be new Disneyland Resport President

From what I understand, he is actually a good choice and very knowledgeable of Disney park operations.

If he wants to last longer than 3 years, he needs to win over the cast members without threatening Jay Rasulo's authority.

We wish George well in the politically charged and back stabbing Team Disney Anaheim building!

Guy was Senior VP of DLR ops during the Pressler years. Let's just say I'll reserve my kudos until he proves he's not like his former bosses.

While he was at Disneyland paris, guest spending and satisfaction rose. Heres hoping he not only boosts the morale of cast members but provides Disneyland with good stable leadership as it goes through an expansion just as big as the first time around.

George was the VP of Epcot in the mid 90's. Having worked there at that time, IMHO, he is a good man and truly does care about Disney, the Cast and the Disney show.

The OC Register has an interview. He seems to be serious about being out in the parks, which is a big plus...let's just see if he keeps his promises.
