| Darkbeer ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The Disney Dreams Giveaway Offical Rules - The 15 months of 1.25 Million Dreams http://adestinations.disney.go.com/m...RLYOMDRulesEng They decided to do this from October 1st, 2006 thru December 31st, 2007, so they had to adjust the prizes (They did advertise 1 million in a year, so they had to increase the prizes). MouseSavers.com has prepared a list of prizes from the rules (which has more detail for each prize). http://www.mousesavers.com/yearofamilliondreams.html Quote:
Disney is being nice with the big prizes, such as the trips, and will give the winner a set amount of cash that should cover most of the taxes ht need to be paid due to winning. With prizes in groups of 3, it looks like they want to give 1 away at DLR, and 2 at WDW, making sure that Disneyland visitors get a chance at the big prizes. The No Purchase Necessary option is a mail in Postcard (one per person per day), and prizes for in-park will be substituted for (the example they use, the Dream FASTPASS will be turned into the Pin and Lanyard, the Dream Mouse Ears or a merchandise gift basket). But at the odds at about 1 in 60 to win, you are looking at spending $14.40 (24 cent USPS standard Postcard) to win one prize, and the average prize value is $13.92 (the total value of all prizes is $17,412,477 and divide that by the 1,250,000 prizes), so it might be worth it to go with the mail-in entry.

| Darkbeer ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: The Disney Dreams Giveaway Offical Rules - The 15 months of 1.25 Million Dreams Another thing that caught my eye, the Dream FASTPASSes are only good for a single person, but it looks like they will hand them out in batches (for example, starting at 11:37 AM, the next 100 people boarding Splash Mountain will get the Dream FASTPASS, this will allow folks who are together a chance to use them as a group. Also, the prizes are to be given out between opening and 5 PM, so that only one shift of Dream Makers is needed. Also, you can win just by going to Downtown Disney

![]() | Re: The Disney Dreams Giveaway Offical Rules - The 15 months of 1.25 Million Dreams Very impressive prizes! Are DLR visitors able to win WDW things? Ex: night in Cinderella castle, MK fastpass, etc. |

| Darkbeer ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: The Disney Dreams Giveaway Offical Rules - The 15 months of 1.25 Million Dreams Based on the rules, no, it looks like there are some prizes that are location specific, such as the special hotel rooms, and it is for THAT night, the rules state they plan to hand out the Hotel prize early in the day to make sure they can find a winner that can use the prize (you have 2 hours to decide if you want your prize).

And then there is the mail-in option, where they will have a random drawing daily, where they pick cards to match the same odds at the park for the same day.

![]() | Re: The Disney Dreams Giveaway Offical Rules - The 15 months of 1.25 Million Dreams The prizes look great but I am really suprised they did not rely on resources in place and give out lots and lots of passes to return to any of the parks for a day. It seems like they could have given out tons of them to families entering the parks and its a win win for everyone, the family can come again for free, the parks already comp CMs and other affiliated employees anyway whats a couple more a day? and more money from the free visits will be made from food and souviner sales. |

At WDW, the lanyards are only good for a specific park for the day, for example, A MK lanyard (about 210 a day) is only good at the MK, and not any other park. As for the internet, there is not an option. The Mail-in option starts Monday, I am planning to write detailed info on it this weekend.

![]() | Re: The Disney Dreams Giveaway Offical Rules - The 15 months of 1.25 Million Dreams Some of the more impressive prizes get me excited, but then I realize that the chances of winning a good prize aren't really worth the excitement. It'll be fun to get a Dream Fastpass, or Ears, but it really won't be anything to write home about. And some of the "better" prizes are pretty weak, too. Such as: Quote:
But either way... Yawn. | |
