Licensing. It's the same concept that allows rides like Star Tours, Indiana Jones, and Roger Rabbit to exist. Universal pays a boatload of moeny to Warner Bros. to allow them to use characters and concepts from the Harry Potter series, and Universal recieves a boatload of money from kids, families, and lonely single women who want to see all of their Harry Potter dreams come true.

you think JK rowling would have given the theme park rights to WB or kept them to make even more money, in addition to have creative control...

universal offered the right price i guess. and i thought this was going in islands of adventure as an addition to lost continent... (mini land)

But where would WB build the rides? They don't own any parks. They have agreements with Six Flags, but do you really want to see Harry Potter ala Six Flags? They would probably just repaint Deja Vu Maroon and Gold and Call it Griffendor Coaster or something lame like that. Universal can do better.

Shrek 4D that's in the US Universal parks is at WB MovieWorld in Queensland, Australia. The same park also has a Superman themed rollercoaster, and has had Harry Potter exhibits.

Re: Harry Potter theme park set for USF

I was excited to read HP to be in the Orlando resort. But I would have also thought HP to be in IoA as well. That was the strongest rumor. Now an entire land on an unused property for USF park?? Um...

I just read a few "articles" on this site and his sources are nothing more than rumors floating around the net that he's tried to pull together. This article is no more credible than any other rumor we've seen on the net.

I still like the idea of changing BTTF to HP

True. From what I have seen of it online, it even looks pretty cool. Its kind of a shame taht the WB did not pick up a Six Flags park or 2 and convert it to a park like that one.

For anyone curious about it here is a link.

Parque Warner Madrid is a former Six Flags managed park.
