![]() | So Long Circle 7—Hello Feature Animation? http://www.o-meon.com/pages/news%26f..._03-22-06.html This article is from several months ago, but I wanted to ask here if anyone has insider info on how this develops. I haven't seen Dream on, Silly Dreamer and don't know what the facilities in the Hat Building are like. What is the original (deco) animation building being used for today? Is the hat building salvageable?

![]() | Re: So Long Circle 7—Hello Feature Animation? What is known on the lot as the Old Animation Building, is now used as office space for various small production companies. The only part that is used by Disney is the north side on the top floor, where Walt's old office use to be located. I think that was Roy Disney's old office. The Disney Company built Roy a flashy new office that was located inside the hat of the, then new, Hat building. But it was more ceremonial than functional. I was a temp in the Old Animation building for over a month. It was great walking into that building knowing the history behind it. I hope they convert the Old Animation building back to it's former glory, and move Feature Animation back to where it belongs. Stick the production companies over in that ugly Hat building.

![]() | Re: So Long Circle 7—Hello Feature Animation? From an Architecture point of view, the New Animation Building is an excelent building and one of the best in the company's staple (and it's my favorite!). If Animation isn't going to work the building anymore, it should be kept and the Fugly Frank Wells Building destroyed. Roy Disney's office may not be functional, but it is beautiful inside. |

![]() | Re: So Long Circle 7—Hello Feature Animation? I had an opportunity to see a presentation for upcoming Buena Vista Music releases and alot of the Circle 7 animators were there(This was before Disney bought Pixar). They seemed excited about being able to work on "Toy Story 3". They probably had no idea what was lying ahead for them. I feel sorry for them but am glad Pixar will now be in charge of "Toy Story 3" whichI believe Bob Iger said would be made. |
