![]() | Re: 02-05-07 Disney to Build Del Coronado-Inspired Hotel at Anaheim Resort Nice to hear about things that are being talked about. But HOPEFULLY that all this is, because the negative impact of the would be far worse than the positive. As mentioned already, by removing, or even reducing the east shuttle area, you are going to create enemies of ALL the hotels that use shuttles for the park, not to mention all the guests that use that transportation. You can forget about all the "Good Neighbor" bookings that occur now. Using the Coranado Hotel for a Hollywood Entrance is EXTREMELY out of Place! Doesn't match the theme at all. And as someone already mentioned, that type of theme is much more compatable with the Paradise Pier Beachy area. It needs a "beach front" not a Hollywood Toony Backlot neighbor. I really don't believe this whole idea has been thoroughly thought through! Taking Land AWAY from DCA is unthinkable, IF they want to grow and expand this park! No One in their right mind should be thinking about using Hollywood and Dine Space for a mini hotel. Right now, they need to be thinking about adding more attractions in the Backlot, and with so much of the Hollywood area already Tooned-up, they should go with it. Now that Monsters is open, add another kiddie dark ride in the Millionaire Building. And in addition, Hollywood and Dine was so big to begin with cut it in half, and Turn Half into another kiddie Dark ride, and then open the other half as a restaurant, again. That would certainly bring in the crowds. Again, I really can't believe this plan is under any real consideration. |

![]() | Re: 02-05-07 Disney to Build Del Coronado-Inspired Hotel at Anaheim Resort HUH? The REAL "Del" is two hours away, why build a copy? When they built the Haunted Mansion in Florida, the completely changed the style of the house because plantation-style mansions were too typically Southern and they wanted something a bit more "exotic". I wish Disney would use some of their former thought process when future planning. |

![]() | Re: 02-05-07 Disney to Build Del Coronado-Inspired Hotel at Anaheim Resort Erm.. the Del Coronado has already inspired the Grand Floridian at WDW and the Disneyland Hotel at HKDL. Do we really need another Del Coronado copycat at a Disney resort? Really? Is it the only beautiful hotel in the world that we can be 'inspired' from? |

![]() | Re: 02-05-07 Disney to Build Del Coronado-Inspired Hotel at Anaheim Resort If they wanted a hollywood-type/kind/themed hotel why not build a copy of the Chateau Marmont ... At least it would simply go in with the land. I like the idea of a nice hotel, but like I stated above, the theming of victorian doens't fit HPB. |

![]() | Re: 02-05-07 Disney to Build Del Coronado-Inspired Hotel at Anaheim Resort Hey Chuck, thanks for the update... I was hoping for more details... The AIA just released the Del Coranado as being the second most admired Structure in California, the first being the Golden Gate Bridge... Also on that list is the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Transamerica Piramid, the Awaniee Lodge in Yosemite... It is the most admired Hotel from an Architectural stand point in the United States... Uh, you didn't read Al's last update did you? It's there... It's short, but it's there...

![]() | Re: 02-05-07 Disney to Build Del Coronado-Inspired Hotel at Anaheim Resort FWIW, Marcie @ MI posted today that "the rumor is baseless." She mentioned that Baxter did propose plans for a Victorian-themed hotel, which has now been "completely dropped." And plans for a boutique hotel south of ToT have been put on hold. Sounds as though Mr. O is working with old info.

![]() | Re: 02-05-07 Disney to Build Del Coronado-Inspired Hotel at Anaheim Resort Thanks for the heads up. I had no idea we'd generated five pages of debate over there. Who knew a little hotel could stir up so much discussion. |
