By C. W. Oberleitner
March 8, 2007

Hand-drawn African American Princess to debut in 2009. Rat takes bath before cooking up Disney/Pixar comedy. America’s most famous corporate gadfly picks up where she left off and takes new Disney board chairman to woodshed.

Thanks for the summary of the Corporate Meeting. Certainly
Iger has shown some miraculous moments as the head of Disney,
and to heal many of the wounds inflicted by previous emperor
eisner. Iger's top achievement so far, has been the healing of the
Pixar relationship and bringing PIXAR permanently into the Disney
family/ And with that, Lasseter in his current role is one of the best
things for Disney. Bringing Roy into an advisory capacity was also
a big step in healing Disney wounds.

Today, Iger really shined, and showed just how diplomatic and
skillful he is in this healing business. When some would have an
eccentric, disruptive, goof of a lady, hauled away to a padded room,
Iger uses his skills to somehow, well a picture tells a thousand words,
achieve this:

Great report, thank you for that!

And, as much as I hate to be "that guy," I gotta say: the word is "losing" - not "loosing"!!!

(Phewwwwww. Thanks. Had to get that off my chest. I see that all the time, and it always drives me nuts.)

Thanks Chuck. I'm really pleased with the Frog Princess. Not only is it great that Disney is returning to 2D musicals, but high time that they add an African-American princess to the cadre of Asian, Middle-Eastern, and European princesses.

Let's hope that it is well done, and well received.

I really hope that this is just concept - she's not that pretty. (At least compared to the typical disney princess).

Saddlesore, never be afraid to point out a typo. I hate the damn things. Believe it or not I go through every store three times before sending it off to a our senior editor in the Bay Area and I reread it after I get it back from him.

Still, as you can see, things manage to get by us. We do, however, always go back and correct errors that are either pointed out to us or we discover on our own no matter how long a story has been up.

Thanks again for the heads up. Please note we've made your correction.

Well I didn't imagine her to be like that, but still. Jazzy.

Don't know how to post a pic to the board, but there's a different still of her here:

Maybe someone else can post that pic?

OK, great, no problem Then here is actually a link for a better pic, more close up:
http://www.endi.com/XStatic/endi/tem....aspx?n=175894

I saw another pic, more sketchy, with her hair down and loose in a pink dress I think, but now I can't find that one. She's really a very pretty heroine. I think the one with the "flapper" style headdress and beads is just trying to capture the 1920's jazz club feel. That period doesn't have the most attractive historical costumes anyway...

Ok THAT is such a cool picture! Can I say that her dress reminds me of Tinker Bell? I'm so excited for "real" animation again!!
