 | 10-17-07 DCA Artwork First Look First Look: Billion Dollar Multi-Year Expansion of Disneyland Resort and California Adventure October 17, 2007 After months of Internet speculation by a host of Disney bloggers the Walt Disney Company, earlier today, formally and officially made the announcement that Disney theme park fans have been waiting for almost since February 8, 2001. A major expansion of the Disneyland Resort, and Disney’s California Adventure theme park that will bring new entertainment and family-oriented attractions to Disney’s California Adventure, including an entirely new Cars Land inspired by the hit Disney•Pixar animated film Cars. Looks like the decided to go with Mansion Style omnimovers instead of suspended (Peter Pan) style clam-buggies for the Little Mermaid ride. I think Cathay Circle was a great choice to replace the old sun icon...I was wondering what they were going to do in that area. I'm happy a Little Mermaid ride is being built but would have preferred the suspended version since that would give a stronger impression of floating in water. All in all...looking good...will have to plan a West Coast trip around 2012! |
