PokitPals

I saw them on Dateline Disneyland today, and I read the closed thread that's already in this forum. My question is: What exactly are they? Do they open and close like a compact mirror or a pillbox? Or are they simply like little decorated rocks? And how much do they each cost, about? Just curious to understand what they are, because some of them are quite pretty.

They're little boxes that open and close. And, they run about $20 each.

Re: PokitPals

I bought the Tiki Room one because, well, I love the Tiki Room.

That said, I couldn't imagine using them as actual pill boxes. Given the resin material used for them, they seem very susceptible to chipping and damage.

So, while for $20-$25 they aren't a terrible deal--be aware that they may not be of much use for anything other than display.

Re: PokitPals

The Art of Disney at WDW's DTD had him in there signing last sunday. I picked up the HM #1 PokitPal and he autographed the inside of the "lid" - the removable piece. The other 3 portraits are going to be done as well, but I don't know when. As I told him a few months ago, he needs to make a mini of the WDW HM....

Re: PokitPals

I would purchase a WDW Mansion in a heartbeat. Hopefully it happens sooner rather than later. Good to know that he plans on doing the rest of the portraits as well

Re: PokitPals

One of my coworkers said the other three are expected in June. I have to be honest, however - we have been really slow to get restock of product. I don't know if AOD is having the same problem (and these aren't a restock) but I just scratch my head each time someone asks me why we are still out of an item....

Re: PokitPals

Art of Disney now has the HM pokitpals #2,3,&4. They are $22 each. You can always call the WDW Mail order # 407-363-6200 if you want to pick them up. The mail order number I had for AOD/DTD is wrong...

Edit:
In case anyone wants to order the Haunted Mansion ones by mail order, here is the info for the Art of Disney at DTD/WDW:
phone: 407-828-3929
fax: 407-934-6644

Here are the SKUs for the three I purcahsed:
#2 Dynomite 40015632408
#3 3 guys 40015632403
#4 Mrs George 40015632406

I am pretty sure I have the descriptions matched up right, but I don't actually have the boxes here at the office...they are $22 each.
