It's not attached to anything. It's the first day of release plaque. It comes with all the pieces when you buy them on the first day. Because they did this online, I'm assuming it went out with all the orders that were placed in the timeframe specified.

Just unpacked the 2 I ordered. One is PERFECT (though I haven't put the batteries in yet, so I still need to check the transformer's functionality yet) and the other one has that same 'stained' plaque issue reported in an earlier post. Won't rub off, looks bad. Going to send it back.

The little labels attached to the marquee that states hours of operation could have been placed a little more accurately....definitely see a bit of a slide downward in the quality on this piece. ::shrug:: guess that's what $70 buys me....

Sent mine back to DL today...now we'll see how long it takes to get the replacement.

The plaque on the front of mine is stained at
the top and bottom, also. The wood base is
also damaged on one corner. It really is sad
to see that the quality on the piece is lacking.

I tried the batteries, and they only lasted for
less than 10 minutes. I tried the adapter, and
the lights went off after about 5 minutes. Is
it suppose to do that??????

Then I tried switching it off and on ~ lights still
didn't turn on. Then unplugged the adapter and
plugged it in again, turn the switch off and on ~
and they lit again. Then I unplugged the adapter,
and they stayed lit ~ What the heck???? Were
the batteries recharged???? Then I took the
batteries out, put them in again. Turn the switch
on and off and on and off ~ but the batteries didn't
work ~ once again.

Oh, and why were there no instructions on where
the light switch is on these figures. I finally guessed
it had something to do with the hydrant, but thought
you had to turn/twist it on. Uggggh., (and yes the
big figs lack complete instructions too, not just the
Ochefski pieces ~sorry about the spelling)

Oh, one other question, What's the deal? these were
made in CHINA????? Does Mr. O ship off his work to
CHINA??????? eeeeecccccccckkkkkkk

Got mine from UPS Friday (was in an exercise all week). I ordered two AP.

- One also has the "stained" plaque problem and a "D" is noticebly crooked.

- The second one is fine.

I am not sure how they can "replace" it since it is a limited edition and sold out. I will try calling Monday

Same problem that others noted - the extra plaque was just thrown in with the piece. But, doesn't appear to have damaged it.

The quality in this piece is just bad overall.

I too am frustrated that it seems that everything from Dland comes from China. But, we I buy it. So, I am to blame as anyone else.

I was at the Pentagon a couple weeks ago and discovered the "white house hs" ornaments. Sell about $12 - 15 each with amazing artistic design and quality. I had bought only two but got so intrigued with them I bought the whole set ('81 to 07). And, They are made in USA!

Just got my replacement today.....looks great and works great too! This time they placed the loose plaque in an envelope outside of the package, this might have been a good idea for the original shipment, even though that wasn't the problem with mine.
