La Hacienda de San Angel Opens Sept. 16th

    From AllEars.net

The new full-service La Hacienda de San Angel restaurant in Epcot's Mexico
pavilion is scheduled to open to walk-in diners September 16, 2010.

La Hacienda de San Angel will open daily at 4 p.m.

The menu will feature starters like queso fundido (warm cheese with poblano
pepper and chorizo); a taco trio with rib eye, roasted chicken and pork; and
traditional black bean soup. Entrees include a mixed grill for two with flank
steak, chicken, chorizo and vegetables (a seafood version features grouper,
shrimp and scallops); roasted shrimp in pepper garlic broth; flank steak with
spring onions, refried beans and cactus leaves; and grilled red snapper with
roasted corn and cactus leaves; and for dessert, chocolate churros, sweet
    tamales and fruit empanadas.

Reservations will become available later in September for October 15 arrivals
    and later.

Next door, La Cantina de San Angel, the quick-service restaurant, will reopen on
    September 16 and will operate from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The new La Cantina menu will offer chicken and beef tacos on fresh handmade corn
tortillas, nachos, a cheese empanada, guacamole and chips and churros.

Hopefully I can get into this restaurant before the free dining plan people fill it all up!

Glad to hear they're going to keep some form of quick-service open most of the day, even with the full service offering in the evening. Can't wait to see some photos of the completed place, as they were in the midst of construction during my last visit.

I was going to make a reservation for it for our december trip, but it's showing that it's not on the dining plan. Because I checked in 'dining plan accepted' when doing my search and it didn't show up as available or not available, so I unchecked it and it shows up.

So, is it on the dining plan?

I am more interested in the prices they will charge, since I can pretty much go to our local Garibaldi's restaurant and have a live mariachi serenade me while I am eating my mexican food.. for much less than what WDW usually charges them tourists.

    Just for you, TDLfan....
Menu with prices for counter service
Menu with prices for table service

Not too much I would actually eat.

$10 for nachos... yeah, pretty much as pathetic as Disney can go.

The dinner prices don't look out of line for the usual fare, but the counter-service prices seem really high. The only reason I could see that being excusable is if the food quality is similar to the full service restaurant portion, since I'm assuming they are using the same kitchen. If it's 10 bucks for a huge plate of nachos with a load of stuff on them, that isn't bad. If it's 10 bucks for some meat and cheese on chips, then I'm crying fowl.
