Booking a Disney hotel

Hi,

After a 6 year absence, I'm planning on visiting WDW again this june - mostly for enjoying what I believe is the best theme park offering in history: Reflections of Earth.

Me and my friend have decided that we would like to spend a night at a Disney hotel, just to see what it's like. If we do this, we obviously want to do it right (meaning: Take what seems to be the best hotel). Animal Kingdom Lodge is on the top of our list after a lot of good stories from friends. But due to the cost of it, and the expenses of inter-continental travel, we just want a single night there.

Now the question is: What is the best way to book this? Through wdw.com, or are there better offer out there?

Also, would it be possible to use the transportation to the airport option if we're just staying one night?

Any hlep or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Tonny

You could book directly through Disney, or through a travel agent although a lot of agents will not book one night only. You might also keep an eye on Mousesavers to see what specials are going on for your travel date.

If you book it yourself and there is not a special going on you might want to keep an eye out for any special that might come out. If one does become available you would need to contact Disney to see if you can have it applied. If you go through a Disney specialist they will do it for you.

Check sites like hotels.com, Expedia, etc. Sometimes they have deals on Disney hotels that are way cheaper than if you booked through Disney directly. I once got a room at Port Orleans through hotels.com for $50 less a night than the Disney price.

Depending on your travel dates there are being discounts offered at the Disney Resorts.

Let me know what dates you are looking for and I will get you some prices, hopefully they will fall into when you are traveling.

Definately let a travel agent like the above Magical Travel book for you. It will reduce the stress by a ton. I use a different one, but I'm sure they are just like the one I use. It is amazing how easy they make booking a trip.

First let me tell you that if you are going in June & book prior to Jan 24th you could actually do 7 nights at Disney for the price of 4.

As to Disney's Magical Express...you can use the transportation if you are checking in to Disney on the date you arrive...however, for the return to the airport, it has to be used on the day you check out so don't know if this will work for you on a 1 night stay.

Thanks for the kind words. My only suggestion to people is to make sure they are using an "Authorized Disney Vacation Planner" agency. This way they know they are getting truly experienced people. Too many "new" start up agencies without much of a track record yet.
