Going to Disney World as a minor?

I am going to graduate high school next week and as a graduation present, my parents offered to send me to Disney World for a week with a few of my friends who are also graduating. It will just be us four, with no adults or guardians. The problem is that we are all not legal adults as of yet, 17 years of age to be exact. We plan to stay on-site at one of the value resorts.

So anyway, my question is: Do we need to have an adult/guardian with us?

Per federal law, you have to be at least 18 to check into the hotels (though some hotels that have casinos in them, like Vegas, require you to be at least 21), so yeah you're going to need at least one person in your group that's at least that age and have their name be on the hotel reservation.

Personally speaking, I have gone on vacation without parents at the age of 17 and have rented hotel rooms.

Call them and ask. Some places will allow you to stay there over the age of 16 without an adult if your parents are the ones renting the room for you and gaurentee the room. In otherwords, they have your parents credit card on file and can bill them for any damages. Your parents would be taking the responsibility. They would be the ones actually renting the room.

I don't know if Disney does this, but it can't hurt to ask.

Oh darn it. I guess I need to convince one of my parents to come along. I wish they would have had me sometime in Spring!
