Question Hard decisions - Picking a hotel

I have been to WDW many times but have only stayed at the resort twice so my resort knowledge is lacking. Yup, I stayed the Disney Inn.

So, we (DH, me and DS) are looking for a hotel for the weekend of October 4th and I am having a hard time deciding between Port Orleans French Quarter and Pop Century (preferred room). After reading some reviews, I'm no closer to making a decision.

For us, the room is a place to go between park closings and park openings. We want something quiet and convenient. Can I get this from either resort? Since it is only a weekend visit, should I go for the less expensive option? Do you have a better recommendation?

if your looking for quiet and convenient, French Quarter is the way to go. you pay a little more but usually you see shorter bus waits, less noise, and a better overall experience that a moderate can provide.

I asked one of the CMs on the reservation line and she said "No one has ever described Pop as quiet". French Quarter!

    That may be true.

POFQ is really quiet and peaceful as long as you don't face the pool. However being a quick weekend visit and not spending time at the resort you may want to forget the Premium Room option and just stay at pop to save money. Then spend it on nicer meals of something else.

I am trying to upload a pic of the view from my POFQ room but it isn't working. (Too big I think) Trust me when I say it was a little courtyard with trees and grass and paths, and it was wonderful and relaxing. I even saw a bunny once!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
