EPCOT Fastpass Question - When to get Sorin' Fastpass
Moving forward from my similar DAK question, what's the best Fastpass strategy for EPCOT?
From what I've read, it seems like I have to go for the Soarin' FP first, and then the Test Track FP later. Does anyone have any other related advice?
This is for a trip the week of Thanksgiving. Thanks in advance!
Re: EPCOT Fastpass Question
Well, we don't usually do Soarin' since we have it at DCA. But if it's a priority for you then yes, I would get a FP for Soarin' early. (for some reason, they don't offer a single-rider line on EPCOT's version)
Then head for Test Track and ride. By the time you get off Test Track (if you have gone at opening) you 'should' be able to get another FP after your ride.
If not, go ride Mission: Space (line never really gets that long) and then go back and get another Test Track FP.
From what I understand about Thanksgiving (and from the dates you have listed) you should be okay for a couple of days. Obviously the closer you are getting to Turkey day, the busier the parks will get. I'd try to get the big stuff out of the way early in your trip, that way when it starts to get busier towards T-day, you can just take it easy.
Re: EPCOT Fastpass Question
Definitly get a fastpass for Soarin right away!! I have never seen the standby line for that ride become shorter than 50 mins. And the Soarin fastpasses do tend to run out really really fast.
Test Track has a single rider line that is usually shorter if you want to opt for that but the standby lines are nowhere near as bad as with Soarin.
Re: EPCOT Fastpass Question
Make sure to get one for Living With the Land early!!!1

Ignore him :p
Yes to Soarin' right away if you plan on riding it.
Re: EPCOT Fastpass Question
Yep, the line for Soarin is by far the worst in the whole resort. So get a fastpass there first as they run out quickly, then one for Test Track. There's no real need for a fastpass for anything else, not since they upped the capacity at Living with the Land at least.
Edited to add:
You may want to get one for Maelstrom on busy days next. That line can get really bad on busy days and its one of the most boring queues anywhere.
Re: EPCOT Fastpass Question
Thanks, everybody! I kinda get the impression I should grab those Soarin' FPs! :)
Re: EPCOT Fastpass Question
Thanks for posting this question because I was going to ask the same thing. I haven't been on Soarin' yet and I definitely want to ride that this time 'round.
Re: EPCOT Fastpass Question
Does anybody know why the Soarin' at EPCOT doesn't offer a single rider line? You'd think they would as popular as the ride is.
I've never been in the queue at EPCOT, so is it a space issue?

I don't think so, they could easily split the FP line down the middle, they already have the dividers in for it. I agree though, they should have a single rider line. :)

Excellent question and responses. I have moved the thread and renamed the title a bit so this can be used as a resource in our WDW Travel Planning section.
Thanks folks!

Great idea with this thread Dusty. I've been in Epcot's Guest Relations and heard guests upset because they could no longer get FastPasses for this attraction as it's that popular. So get them right away if you plan to ride!

Actually, it was originally supposed to have one, and I know the remnants of the sign were still there for a while, the digital wait time clock at the entrance, but they didn't use it. I heard it was because they "loaded differently" than the DCA one, which I have no idea what that would matter, but for whatever reason, the Fastpass line phased out the rest of the single rider line.

While they will say it "loads differently" the main concern is guest abuse of the program. While guests in larger groups can quickly move through Test Track, the Soarin' line doesn't move as quickly and so the line would quickly back-up. The CMs work real hard to try to fill each seat in each row as well to avoid this concern.

Thanksgiving week is packed. Absolutely get your fast pass first for Soarin, once you've done that ride you can then go get one for Fast Track. You can only get one at a time & they do tend to close down both fast passes quickly.
