SFMM Here I Come! And So Are the Questions!

I haven't gone to Six Flags Magic Mountain yet this summer, so I have a few questions for the people who have been. I am going this Sunday (Yes, I know, the buiest part of the year) so does anybody know how the wait times for rides have been? I want to try and ride X2, so if I go there first thing in the morning will it be a long wait still?

Perfect timing. My daughter just went twice recently. Both times X2 was the first ride she went on. On a Saturday she waited a little over an hours and the line was 3-4 hours all day after that. She also went on a weekday first thing and waited a little less than an hour, it had lines close to 3 hours all day after that.

Hope you like HOT. We went June 21st and headed straight for the X2 line --it was just over an hour's wait. Bring plenty of water to drink and if at all possible don't wear anything dangly/loose ---you'll have to buy a $1 locker b4 you board if so.

By the time we rinished riding it was just after 11am and well on it's way to 110degrees....no fun in the sun.

When we went a few weeks back on a Friday, every lane into the parking lot at all booths was jammed full 35 minutes before the park opened. We waited about an hour for X@ consequently. After that, we rode Goliath, Batman, Riddler's and Ninja with no more than a 4 cycle wait. Could've easily added Scream, but didn't want to go out of the way for a coaster so similar to our local Medusa. Rode Tatsu with FP, and didn't appear to be much wait at Viper afterwards.

Get there at least a 1/2 hour before posted park opening. Fly over to X2 immediately, and your wait may be only about 30 minutes. Within 20 minutes of park opening, the ride commonly gets 2-3 hours long. Try to avoid bringing bags/purses if possible, as you will need to fork over money (and time to get a locker). Cargo pants/shorts are the best for storage!

They are getting better about operations, and many coasters will run 2 or even more trains if possible. Still, this is the peak season, and lines will likely be long. I'd head over to Tatsu as soon as you are done with X2. Then hope Deja Vu is open, and try to get on that soon, as it has the slowest line. They often do single rider on Deja Vu (it is the only ride in the park with this option), but not always... ask an operator.

Don't forget to head up to the Sky Tower at some point and see the SFMM museum! Enjoy!

Thanks for the help! I'll will definately go to x2 first, bringing as little as possible. I am going to buy a flashpasses after x2 and then head to Tatsu. I don't really have an intrest in Deja Vu, I never really liked it. From there I'll make up stuff as I go!

EDIT: The Park opens at 10:00. If I get to the entrance by 9:15, will it still be crowded at the gate?

I'd say 9:15 should be good. Even 9:30 should be okay. Stop by a nearby fast food for breakfast, and eat it while you're waiting in line for the park to open.

Thanks For all the help everyone! It was an excellent day, and managed to get on the second train of X2! It was an extreme roller coaster, and the fire was hot! The rest of the lines moved very fast and the staff were a lot friendlier and quicker when it came to loading rides. Way to go Six Flags!

Glad to know the pointers helped.

The staff, and park cleanliness, is much better. The management is really doing their best to slowly, but surely, turn things around. Did you know there is free internet at SFMM now? Inside the Cyber Cafe, near the lower entrance of the Orient Express/Funicular!

Yeah, I loved it! I checked my e-mail and was even bad enough to go on MC inside there. It was very nice inside there and I found it very relaxing out on the patio near the fouintains.
