Well today I decided to have some fun and went to a local favorite of mine, the Deanna Rose Farmstead. While it's name would imply that it is strictly about a single farm it is more of a combination of the following: botanical gardens, zoo, farmstock, and turn-of-the-century Kansas life. This year, the farmstead is celebrating 30 years of operation. It's run by the city of Overland Park (the second biggest city in Kansas) and is completely free of charge. A few years ago, the farmstead doubled it's size and added an area that replicates old-time Kansas life (as stated above), over the years they continually add more to this area with the plan for it to be complete within the next 5-10 years. I'll let the pictures do the talking. If you want to know more about one or some of them, please ask.
