Re: Man Hit By Roller Coaster At Magic Mountain

Yet another stunning example of the ill effects of a society that refuses to take responsibility for their own actions! I see another lawsuit pending because this "poor helpless individual" scaled a fence that was "dangerously low and not clearly marked" and was "struck by a roller coaster going at a high speed"... Personally I think he should have been locked up in county for trespassing but I know they will pay him off.

I was just going to say the same thing.

That second video was scary to watch. I kept waiting for the boat to hit that kid. I'm glad he was not hurt, but people can be so stupid.

That second video is really shocking in a few ways; one way being that kid was THAT stupid to do that. I mean.... I am a bit speechless. Some people...

I would say people just don't have any common sense. The Ninja coaster at Magic Mountain is in a hilly heavily wooded area. Why would you think it's a smart idea to go over a fence in that environment to begin with let alone with a gondola-like roller coaster flying around.

OUCH! Some of you people are just plain mean! He didn't deserve it, but I'm sure he has now learned his lesson.

And that second video IS terrifying. YIKES!

I wouldn't say he deserved it, but he's certainly 100% exclusively at fault. Fortunately, it sounds like there weren't any innocent third-party casualties as a result.

You can add a chinstrap or safety cord to hats and glasses you don't want to risk losing, if you plan a little ahead of time. (Such as being dropped or blown off even if you're not on, but simply near, a ride or other place where they'd end up out of reach.)

Yep, and he could have done that to begin with. It's one reason parks have lost-and-found.

This isn't a bad idea. Incarceration probably isn't ncecessary, but a citation and ticket for simple trespassing might make someone think twice the next time.

Is this a copycat performance of what happened in Georgia? I'm kinda wondering if this man attempted to successfully get his hat without getting killed or hurt.

People don't like to read signs in amusement parks. So, they ignore them. It is too much work.

If the hat was that important, he shouldv'e taken it off and held on to it. I almost want to say he had it coming. The 6-7 foot fences aren't for decoration nor are they part of an extreme jungle gym.... keep your dumb butt on the proper side of the fence, you know, where you can read the sign telling you to stay off the fence. You can replace your hat, you can't replace your life or limb. Didn't this happen a while back at Great America in Santa Clara, CA? The guy scaled the fence of the Top Gun ride to get his wife's hat... HE WAS DECAPITATED!!!! People these days... this irritates me but I have to laugh. I'm willing to bet he will probably try to sue the park for whatever condition he's in.
