I think this is a lesson to all theme parks that you can't replicate Disney and be successful, even when you try to do it really close. You can replicate their techniques, strategies, etc., but you can never be exactly like Disney.
    Tell that to the OLC.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

Those pictures are not actually from Japan. They have been transmitted back from a parallel universe future where Paul Pressler and Cynthia Harris remained in charge of operations at Disneyland.

I just can't imagine being in that park all by yourself like that, it would have creeped me out so bad! It's like an episode of Scooby Doo.

Wow. Super subtle, Nara. Slow hand clap for you.

And I thought that Parque Espana (yes, it's a Spanish Park in Japan, look it up) near Toba was sort of a Disneyland rip-off... but nope this takes the cake and the free Cupie doll.

    Super win. Suteki datta yo.

EDIT: ZOMG. I didn't even realize they had been to Parque Espana! What's even cooler is they went just around the same time I went! I was too afraid to go on that bid rollercoaster but I totally remember the wanna-be pirates ride and the advertising for the tenth aniverssary! Lol!

I asked my dad if he knew about Nara Dreamland (he lived in Japan for 11 years), and he told me he had never heard of it. Obviously it was never that popular. One night I did some research on the park. I was cracking up while looking at the website. It was such an obvious rip off. They didn't even try to be original.

I've known about Nara for some time, but it was fun looking at this guy's site and his very funny commentary. Thanks for sharing.

yeah, I will start worrying about DL if ti ever degenerates to a fraction of that level. That park is like something out of the twilight zone.

I don't think I would trust 99% of the rides there with my life. And submarines, how scary would that be? They're probably Duct taped together and part of the attraction is seeing if you can stay afloat by bailing water out with buckets.
