Re: Some Micechatters take Manhattan, Massapequa and the Hamptons

On Monday after we checked out of our hotel , we headed over to the Westbury train station to catch a train to NYC. The area around the train station made me think of Heidelberg.

There's always something Disney everywhere you go.

We were going to catch the 10:47 train to NYC

But we had some time to kill

I don't often take the train and I'm always a little freaked when the fast moving ones go whizzing by so close to the platform.

The train ride took us about 40 minutes and there were lots of sights to see along the way. This was our first view of the Manhattan skyline.

Re: Some Micechatters take Manhattan, Massapequa and the Hamptons

We arrived at the Penn Station at 11:30 and knew we only had an hour and a half to spend there before we'd have to catch the 1:00 train back to Westbury. I was hungry and wanted something New Yorkish to eat so I decided to have a bagel. It tasted just like a bagel from a CA Costco. LOL

Do you notice the Empire State Building right behind me?

We went a few blocks down 33rd St. then turned left to walk toward Time Square. The first store we saw was an H & M which is my favorite. We went inside and in about fifteen minutes time, I was able to pick out two outfits each for each of my kids to give them at Christmas time.

    There were lots of restaurants:

My mom would like this one

Ken was booking and I was trying to walk and take pictures without bumping into anyone.

There were signs advertising musicals every where.

There's always a Hard Rock Cafe to be found in every big city.

I wish we'd had time t go to Bubba Gumps and the Lion King.

This made me think of the ladies of Micechat

And this made me think of a co worker of mine who loves Ugly Betty so much that she evn dressed up as her last Halloween

It really wasn't that far to Time Square. Once we saw it , we turned around and headed back.

Re: Some Micechatters take Manhattan, Massapequa and the Hamptons

Hey, I thought the Statue of Liberty was green. (Just kidding)

This sign made me think of Lori Beth.

This little boy with his dad was so cute. I wish I 'd gotten a picture of them from the front.

I wonder if these guys are just on the NYC streets for show. It kind of seemed like it.

    Another Disney musical

I love the giant Madam's hand

Yay! The green Statue of Liberty!

On the side of a bus! LOL

This store instantly made me think of Cohete Boy

A giant button and needle that I walkeed right by the first time without even seeing. There was soooooo much to take in at every turn.

    Incognito Micechatters?

How much is that doggie in the window?

There were lots of flower stands and fruit stands

    And pastry shops

This store made me think of something you'd see in Hollywood.

Now here's a BIG screen tv

And here's who seemed to be watching it.

    Some friendly New Yorkers

If my twins went in this giant store, I'd probably never see them again.

Here's a better shot of the Empire State Building.

We made it back to Penn Station right on time. Inside thos two H & M bags , there are even a few I love NY buttons we stopped to buy!

Our train turned out to be about 45 minutes behind schedule so since we were thirsty we decided to go to TGOF's and try out two of NYC's drinks....the Manhattan and the Cosmopolitan

This picture was on the wall across from us and I think I've seen other pictures by this same artist.

We caught the train at 1:45 and headed back to Westbury.

Then we drove out to Huntington Station where Jef and Lori Beth to see where they currently live

And we went to see the house they just bought

And we got a real picture of ourselves lying in fall leaves! LOL

It was a whirlwind trip and we crammed a lot in and it a totally worth it!

I am so happy that you got to go into the city! It is a little bit of an overload, but so worth it.

I am glad that Westley got his Manhattan in Manhattan!

Looks like you got some great shots! I'll have to steal a few of them later. I didn't take any pics at the actual wedding.
Well, I think you're crazy, I think you're crazy, I think you're crazy, just like me.

I can't wait to send the gnome one's to my SIL. She should freak when wedding pictures of people she does not know show up with a gnome partying. Yeah, I am evil that way.

I need someone to mail these pictures from a different state, since you will soon be going to Texas I think that would be a good location. Plus I can then send you a gnome to do pictures in Texas and have someone else mail them from another state.

Nevada is too close to us and she knows we occasionally go to Vegas and Laughlin so we have to wait till you are out state. That is why I can't have any southern CA people do the gnomes or she will suspect us.
