SoCal Zombie Walk 12-13-08

For people who are interested in zombiewalks, there are walk groups around the world and three in the southern California area. The oldest is the Los Angeles group, followed by San Diego whose walks always benefit charities, and then the "SoCal" group who tend to stick to Pasadena, and then there's the IE group and Long Beach group, as well.

* LA typically has 1-2 walks per year (March & early autumn).
* San Diego has them every few months (February-ish, Comic-Con, World Zombie Day in late October, and then their holiday event).
* "SoCal" piggyback on LA & SD and usually have their walks about a week before LA or SD, for whatever reason.
* Long Beach does a zombie pub crawl in Belmont Shore in August.
* IE has had one or two so far, but no specific pattern.

I always attend the LA Hollywood walks and SD walks and attended the first SoCal walk, but found it to be less fun than the ones that LA and SD put on. The Comic-Con walks are a BLAST because there's so many non-zombies milling around and the CCI crowd really enjoy & appreciate the zombies!

If anyone wants to participate in a zombiewalk in the future, I highly recommend it, especially when it's for a good cause. I didn't get a chance to go to SD's holiday-themed walk last year, but my sister went (she attends school down there) and said it was really touching to see so many toys and I was amazed to see so much food collected for the food bank, at the SD walk a couple months ago. And hey, the Long Beach zombie pub crawl was pretty cool, too lol

Thanks for sharing your pics and bringing this pasttime to the attention of others, hopefully more people get involved! I read these forums (former cast member), but being a huge zombie fan, I had to register and get in on this, because more people should participate in their local areas - especially the charity events!

Hey Pratt yeah I went. Had a great time. I have a few pictures on myspace and on my blog site. I didn't get dressed up for the event since my friend brought her kid and I didn't want to freak her kid out. The next one is planned for the spring, and hopefully we can convince her kid to get dressed up with us.

Elly, I love you and Dustin, but you both scare the living poop outta me dressed as zombies! Great job you guys. Glad to see you had so much fun. Is there a section in the zombie walk for the zombie hunters?
