I was AFRAID to ride coasters with loops until my very first visit to 6 flags magic mountain. I over came my fear on the first coaster I rode with a loop at that place and after I rode that loop....my fear has vanished completely. I think they are fun now. All I have to say is do not be intimidated by loops. They are fun.

Sure it'll scare the CRAP outta you, but everything after will be cake! Best one in Southern California is X.
Plus after you ride coasters like those, you may scream like a baby while on them, but most of the time when people get off of those coasters they come of laughing and want to ride it again.

I would agree with Screamin' for a first timer, but I'm biased because that was my son's first ever looping coaster and he yelled going through the loop "I DID IT" good memory! He loves loops now.

My first was the Tidal Wave at Great America, which isn't there anymore
(Neither is Stealth btw, SoulQ) It was like Montezuma's Revenge at Knott's. Wasn't too bad for a first loop

Yeah, pretty sad and pathetic that PGA removed 2 signature coasters for nothing. Well in the case of Stealth, for the world's tiniest waterpark. Had the replacements been worthy, it would have at least made the loss worth it. PGA may be my home park, but I'll be the first to say it sucks!

It's a dim memory, but I think my first was The Corkscrew at Knott's. I agree that little ol' California Screamin' at DCA is a good choice for a first loop. The ride is designed to use gravity and centrifugal force to keep you in your seat. (Except for the "woop-de-doos" which are great fun)

Really just try not to think of the ride itself and ask yourself "When will be the next time that I get to experience this? I need to break this small phobia."

One more vote for Screamin'. It was my first loop ever, too, and I loved it. I went back and did it again later in the day.
