Starting this week the San Diego Wild Animal Park- the safari like zoo that is owned by the world famous San Diego zoo, will unveil there newest attraction; An 800 foot balloon, filled with hellium that carries a large metel gondola, capable of lifiting 5000 pds high into the air over the park.
The attraction is designed to go high into the air above the safari section of the park, giving guests a bird's eye view of the park and surrounding San Pasquel Valley. This is the first attraction of this kind on the West Coast, the Phillidelphia Zoo runs a similar balloon for the last two years with much success. The balloon ride will be an additional $15 dollar cost on top of admission but reaction has been very posistive so far.
I think this is amazing and it makes me think of the map of Disneyland from some of the early concept art that includes an image of a balloon high above the park. It would be exceptional if they could build an area to load a few of these at Disneyland or better yet at DCA over the wine area. Thoughts?
