Zombieland was NEVER going to be a scare zone. The people who were hired for "Zombieland" were hired to be zombies at the red carpet for the premiere.

Even if the Zombieland scare-zone had happened, I dont believe the red carpet premiere was going to be held at Knott's, anyways.

Yes, they had one for The Grudge 2 and Quarantine but not for The Stepfather remake.

I agree with those saying it sounds like only the author of the article is turning this into an alleged competition against World of Color. I really doubt that's the intent.

Would everyone rather they didn't try to do a little extra nighttime decoration for a fun change of pace? I don't get the anger at this.

Seriously! Gawd forbid Knott's does something to keep people in the park all day and all night. Wouldn't want to take away those few extra dollars from Disney now, would we?

Anger? I don't think so. It's more like frustration that many fans feel about the direction Knott's has taken since the death of the father. The Knott's kids and Cedar Fair have done a lot to take away the theme and charm of a park that once rivaled Disneyland for total annual visitors.

The Knott's family sold the park to Cedar Faire and does not really have much to do with it's operations, anymore, nor have they for quite some time. It's Cedar Faire attempting to compete with Six Flags that has dragged the quality of Knott's down over the years.

And yes, a lot of people instantly started Knott's-bashing at the beginning of this thread. I'd call that anger.

I'll take Knott's on this one. It may not compete, but it's enough of a change of pace for me.

You enjoy those crowds now, ya hear? I'll be thinking of all of you as I take my peaceful, lovely evening stroll.

Jon, I never bashed Knott's. I used to work at Knott's and absolutely loved it. I just don't like how Cedar Fair took something that was great on it's own and decided it needed to compete with Magic Mountain and Disneyland thus destroying what made Knott's great. Ghost Town is just a shell of what it once was. The Soap Box Derby which was one of the coolest rides EVER (Even beating Disney rides) made it's way into yesteryear to make way for an extreme coaster. The Haunted Shack gone to make way for a ride you have to pay for and Kingdom of the Dinosaurs made way for a laser tag arena you have to pay for. My gripe is that Cedar Fairs is spending money that is pretty obvious on something to compete with World of Color. I would rather have them spend money on things to bring the charm back to Knott's. The rebuilding of some of the displays in Ghost Town is a step in the right direction but it still has some way to go. Knott's really needs to worry about Knott's and not what the other parks are doing. That's what made Knott's great to begin with.

But Knott's started to deteriorate after Walter died and the kids took over. That's when the dark rides started to shut down and the cheap thrills started to take over. And the Knott's children were recently quoted as being very supportive of what Cedar Fair has done with the park since it took the reins. That's just sad and shows they just didn't get it.

The "bashing" was a display of derision for Knott's not anger.

    I agree with PirateMunkee.

Knotts is destroying itself. And once they realize whats happening to KBF, it'll be too late and they'll only have themselves to blame.

And to say that this light show could compete with WOC is saying that Cedar Fair is just as stupid as the folks who run Six Flags.
