My7dwarves: Girl dwarves in Las Vegas TR ;)
Well folks... it is that time of year again; the end of my girls' competitive dance season. The season was great and our studio finished it off with a trip to the KAR Dance Nationals in Las Vegas, NV.
And the trek to Vegas begins!!

The desert!!

And quick as a wink we arrive at our home for the next five days... This was the first time we had stayed at the Luxor. The rooms were nice and clean, and bigger than I expected. However, the hotel itself was a bit smoky, and the employees were quite uninformed and even rude at times...

The view from our room on the 18th floor:
Yes, that is a church across the street...

And an abandoned motel with a creepy empty pool out front...

Oooh!! The Sphinx!! My Egyptian heritage is calling out to me...

Pleasant view...

I heard there were wild animals in Vegas...:D

Grumpy looking bored...

Yes, the chapel is located adjacent to the food court in case you need a quick bite before tying the knot... The girls thought that was so weird and cheesy (no pun intended)... :p

Plagued is a bad boy. :P
We were in a normal tower room. I think an angled room would freak me out!
Re: My7dwarves: Girl dwarves in Las Vegas TR ;)
Looking great so far. But then again, you guys always look great, and I am sure you brought even more beauty and elegance to the glitter capitol during your stay.:)

Yes, it is hot there now. Very hot.
I am sure you have some very interesting stories, Byron. But, as you said, there are preschool toys present...:) I look forward to hearing them at an RCMC meet...
We were in the East Tower, not the Pyramid rooms. Honestly, those freak me out. The rooms seem smaller because of the slant and they are noisy. And really, I am NOT going to get in an elevator that goes diagonally. Ever since I was a kid I have had recurring nightmares about elevators that go up, down, sideways, all different directions. I am not sure why, or what that means, but it scares me. I think it stems from reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Willy Wonka's Glass Elevator thing... FREAKY

Re: My7dwarves: Girl dwarves in Las Vegas TR ;)
Great start!! I didn't realize there was so much vacant looking land still near there. The last time I drove though all I remember was a bazillion cars and casinos... but then I HATE Vegas and I can't get through that place fast enough.
However, I am looking forward to YOUR trip to the City of Sin and Adventure!
Re: My7dwarves: Girl dwarves in Las Vegas TR ;)
Great TR, M7D!!
My memories of Vegas are somewhat mixed. My sister-in-law lived there many years ago, when I still had the airplane. We'd go there and visit once in a while, sometimes we'd fly them to DL for a day. My brother-in-law became bitten by the flight bug, and got his pilots license a year or so later.
My next experience was doing the electrical controls on a power plant about 30 miles NE of Vegas a few years ago. I started in mid-June, and was done in late September. We started out working 6-10s, then 6-12s, and the last month or so was 7-12s. About all I remember is it was always way hot. Sometimes it'd be in the 90s before the sun came up. It was 124 several days.
The money was good, but it just about killed me!!
It sounds like you had a nice time. The girls must be pretty good even to get this far. Even though Vegas doesn't offer a lot for kids, there's always something the whole family can see.
P.S. Grumpy looks like a miniature Lolo. What a total cutie!!

Yes, I was surprised about the land too. Looks like they have plenty of room to build another huge hotel acros the street from the Luxor.
And I agree... I hate Las Vegas too. But then again, I'm married and don't drink, gamble or smoke, so that rules out alot of things to do there, lol.

Yes, I have to agree with you Grumpy is a cutie, but can be quite the moody little thing.
I hate that we usually have to go to Dance Nationals in Las Vegas, but we do have fun staying at the hotels.
Stay tuned for more pictures!!

Too bad you still didn't have your plane. You need to fly in for a DL RCMC meet to see how crazy we are in person ;)
124 degrees would kill anyone!! How the heck do you work in that kind of weather??
We went to the pool at around noon one day in Vegas and my sister (mom calls her Sleepy on MC and she is also our photographer) was just melting from the heat. It was only about 105 degrees, but the sun was right over head and the reflection of it off the Luxor pyrimad was absolutely blinding! She was freaking out...It was so funny. She kept saying (in a very loud voice) that, "it is hooot! HOLY COW! it is hot!!!". I guess she will never live in Vegas or any desert for that matter!
People have said that me and Grumpy look like each other...I don't really see it.

This is true. No one would know it though. She is so adorable in public and charms everyone she meets, but is horribly moody. She has lots of spunk.
