WB Movieworld Halloween Fright Nights 2010

This past weekend marked the debut nights of Warner Brothers Movie World's Halloween Fright Nights for 2010.

Despite steady rain on opening night, plenty of people still showed up for the much publicised, increasingly adult orientated event.

The park was looking quite nice and very atmospheric.

This year saw the addition of some properly themed movie mazes; headlined by SAW Maze and FREDDY's Nightmare Maze.

There was a live Motor Cross show, "Zombie MotoX Live Show" which utilised the parks Hollywood Stunt Driver arena. It was a very good show, similar to the SlaughterWorld overlay at Universal Studios' Waterworld.

Hopefully theres more like this to come and we can expect even better things next year.

    Doesn't look crowded.

How is the maze compared to Universal studios hollywood. Rate it from 1 to 10.

Is this how the exterior of the SAW maze look like? It looks cheap and tacky. How are the quality of the maze.

Here in Hollywood the quality of the mazes are so realistic.

The photos were taken very early in the night. The maze queues were exposed in the constant rain, so the camera didnt get brought out -- the queues were easily 1-2hrs on the first evening when I visited.

Rating for the mazes in general 5/10
Rating in comparison to USH as you say, 2/10

But apparently I am "too" critical for having experienced HHN mazes. But the truth is, budgets here are different, and Halloween is not an established event in Australia, so we have a long way to come in terms of scare tactics and quality.

The exterior was similar to overseas marquee based mazes, just it lacked any entry theming. Inside the maze recreated key scenes from the Saw franchise, like the bathroom. It was good quality for Australia, but nothing on the scale of HHN.
