Sympathies for the family of the victim. Early speculation would point to the man having no legs as the primary reason for him being ejected from the ride. Probably a policy and/or operator error for letting the man ride.

As for the Texas Giant, not newsworthy in the slightest. A 30 minute wait for an evac? Not uncommon in the slightest. The "journalism" here is rather suspect and, without doubt, sensationalized.

Totally ridiculous assessment in that video. Truly tragic, but Roller Coasters remain one of the safest things you could possibly do. You are WAY more likely to get hurt driving to/from an amusement park, walking through the parking lot of said amusement park and getting trampled from some person riding an ECV in said amusement park.

This is the second time a person has been fatally thrown from Ride of Steel due to an improper fit. I wonder if over-the-shoulder restraints are in the coaster's future.

The man who was thrown off didn't have legs; that's two extra "natural" restraints planting one's self in the coaster that this man didn't have.

To be frank, the man shouldn't have gone on at all. Sad it happen but stuff like this keeps happening, more restrictions/restraints are going to be placed on roller coasters and we might as well be all bandage up and all geared up from head to toe like were getting ready for a American football game.

Life tosses everyone a hardball but some people are just aren't able to ride certain rides, PERIOD! Even if this video below if funny, it has some truths that should be set: "Guest with disabilities will be escorted to Fort Special, where the ride will be described to them by a authentic Naveo story teller."

    and it's common sense!

The incident at Darien Lake earlier this year caused Warner Bros. Movie World in Australia to change its rider policies and has now resulted in some bad press for the park.

Mr McKay said an incident in the United States, where a double amputee was killed after being thrown from a lap-bar roller coaster, had caused theme parks to review their policies.

Why was this thread moved? Darien Lake's last season as a Six Flags park was 2006.

That was my fault, I didn't realize it was Darien Lake and that they had kept the name when it changed to non Six Flags ... moving back.
