Walt’s Barn at Griffith Park
If you love Walt Disney history, this is a place for you! Did I mention it is FREE! or should I say Donations only.
First off, the barn is only open on the third Sunday of the month.
Walt's barn is the actual barn that was in his back yard years ago. It is like a little museum in there. They have some of Walt’s old things and other old Disney merchandise. They have an old Santa Fe and Disneyland coach that used to be at Disneyland many years ago. They have an old little train house that used to be in animator Ollie Johnson's back yard. You can ride on the little trains next door at the LA live steam trains (totally worth it).
Then, if you drive to the other side of Griffith Park, (less than 5 minutes away) you can ride the very old same merry-go-round where Walt used to take his daughters to and dreamed of building Disneyland while sitting on the bench.
I share this with you because I love the history of Walt Disney. There is nothing to sell, no gain for me. I only want to share with you a good time that I had with my family.
