Busch Gardens Tampa's Howl O Scream event begins to leak info

    by Aimster

Busch Gardens Tampa has leaked some info on this year’s Howl-O-Scream event via their HOS Insider Twitter account. It all started with the following tweet on Friday the 13th (an appropriate day if there ever was one):

@HOSInsider: So if Death Row Vengeance and Deconstruction are going away… what does that leave coming back?

Last year, Howl-O-Scream had 6 houses that were included with event admission and one upcharge house – Death Row Vengeance, Deconstruction, Nevermore, Zombie Mortuary, Vampire Casino, Nightshade Toy Factory, and the upcharge house, Alone. With the above Tweet, Busch Gardens confirmed that Death Row Vengeance and Deconstruction would not be returning for 2012 and confirmed the other houses would be back for another round of terror.

@HOSInsider: Of course you know we never bring them back exactly the same...

As the past would indicate, sometimes when a house would return, it would receive some minor tweaks to keep it fresh. Sometimes, it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

@HOSInsider: Updated house the first: Vampire Casino: Condemned. The casino is closed, but you can still explore... with a flashlight!!

@HOSInsider: Crazed toymaker vs MUTANTS. in Nightshade Toy Factory: Mutation, a radioactive leak gives the toys the power they need to finally take over.

@HOSInsider: Alone, Zombie Mortuary and Nevermore are all returning with little tweaks. So I guess that just leaves the two NEW houses to talk about...

    Two new houses? All right!

@HOSInsider: You asked for it, YOU GOT IT! HOS 2012 will once again feature an insane asylum house... BLOOD ASYLUM!

@HOSInsider: From the official BG files: "As a storm rages, 'The Creature' escapes from his cell in a high-security asylum for the criminally insane... Now this sadistic deviant is running rampant, skinning his former cellmates and turning the mental hospital into his own torture chamber.

Sounds fascinating and utterly terrifying at the same time!

    @HOSInsider: Who wants CLOWNS?!

    Uhhh…Clowns? CLOWNS? *runs away screaming*

@HOSInsider: Ohhh... did I mention they were 3-D clowns?

@HOSInsider: NEW HOUSE #2! "Circus of Superstition 3-D" - Here's what I know: You’ve been taught to avoid black cats and sidewalk cracks your whole life, but all those years of bad luck caught up. Crazed circus clowns challenge you to survive 13 superstitions in their 3-D Tent of Terror, but it will take more than luck to escape!

Can’t sleep… Clowns will eat me.
    And if that wasn’t enough…

@HOSInsider: A bunch of people have been asking if HOS was going to bring back anything from the past to celebrate big number 13, and the answer is YES!

    Oh yeah? Do tell!

@HOSInsider: "Faded Memories" is a new zone with signature set pieces/props from HOS's classic houses, plus some of your favorite HOS characters ever!

Looks like this year the park will be back to specified scare zones instead of the “The Entire Park Is A Scare Zone” they did last year. No area of the park was safe as there were hoards of scareactors roaming everywhere. You never knew WHO you would run into!

That’s all the information we have for now. The official Howl-O-Scream website should be going live sometime in August and we’ll have more information then about this year’s event, including the main theme, shows and more!

Will you be going to Howl-O-Scream? We know we will!

I've never been to the Halloween events in Orlando. Are they separate tickets from a day admission here? What about at Universal?

Yes they're separate ticket events. Howl-O-Scream runs on the weekends normally from the end of September through Halloween. HOS goes from like 7pm until midnight or 1am. Even if you're not into the mazes, the atmosphere at night is awesome and lines for the coasters are usually pretty short because most everyone is in line for the mazes. I went twice last year and had a blast... and I normally don't like gory Halloween stuff.

I believe Halloween Horror Nights at Universal is similar, though I think they have the event on some weeknights as well.

The same also goes for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party.
