Busch Gardens Tampa has leaked some info on this year’s Howl-O-Scream event via their HOS Insider Twitter account. It all started with the following tweet on Friday the 13th (an appropriate day if there ever was one):
@HOSInsider: So if Death Row Vengeance and Deconstruction are going away… what does that leave coming back?
Last year, Howl-O-Scream had 6 houses that were included with event admission and one upcharge house – Death Row Vengeance, Deconstruction, Nevermore, Zombie Mortuary, Vampire Casino, Nightshade Toy Factory, and the upcharge house, Alone. With the above Tweet, Busch Gardens confirmed that Death Row Vengeance and Deconstruction would not be returning for 2012 and confirmed the other houses would be back for another round of terror.
@HOSInsider: Of course you know we never bring them back exactly the same...
As the past would indicate, sometimes when a house would return, it would receive some minor tweaks to keep it fresh. Sometimes, it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

@HOSInsider: "Faded Memories" is a new zone with signature set pieces/props from HOS's classic houses, plus some of your favorite HOS characters ever!
Looks like this year the park will be back to specified scare zones instead of the “The Entire Park Is A Scare Zone” they did last year. No area of the park was safe as there were hoards of scareactors roaming everywhere. You never knew WHO you would run into!
That’s all the information we have for now. The official Howl-O-Scream website should be going live sometime in August and we’ll have more information then about this year’s event, including the main theme, shows and more!
