What Non Disney parks are close to you?

I was just kind of wondering what non Disney theme parks are close to you where you live. I am lucky I have several with in a 5 hr drive of my home. How good are they? I am looking for new parks to hit when I do my summer theme park vacation. I get to the ones I list on the weekends and am looking for ones now farther away to try when I make my long weekend trips or also for the 2 weeks this summer when I am still seeking to fill my vacation time with.

5. Action Park (Now known as Mountain Creek Waterpark in NJ)
6. Dutch Wonderland
7. Williams Grove (smaller almost what I would call a old time family type of park)
8. Kings Dominion
9. Busch Gardens Williamsburg
10. Six Flags Great Adventure
11. Six Flags Wild Safari
12. Six Flags Hurricane Harbour
13. Six Flags America
14. Knoebels Grove

I also have several smaller family parks and water parks but there are just to many to list. Let me know what's out there.

I used to live 10 minutes from Busch Gardens Tampa. Now it's about a half hour away.

I live 20 miles from SFMM, and SFHH. 30 miles from Universal Studios Hollywood. 56 miles from Knott's Berry Farm. 60 miles from DLR. 4 hours away from Sea World. 6 hours away from SF Great America.

san diego zoo (I don't like it)

LA zoo
Griffith park
lego land (never been...and i don't want to go)

there may be more, but I don't go to most of the ones i listed....I don't even know what in nothern california...LOL

Wow now I feel really lame... . The ones I live by are not really amusement parks... They are Wildlife Safari(1 1/2 hours), Enchanted Forest(3 1/2 hours), and 6 Flags Enchanted Village(7 hours). I really wish there was somthing in Oregon!! Oh well!

JessicaLover ... you live close to some very awesome parks.

We did Hershey, Knoebels, Dorney and Six Flags Great Adventure last September. They were all great with the exception of Dorney. We were there for 1 1/2 hours.

Six Flags Over Georgia - about 45 minutes away

White Water (a division of Six Flags) and American Adventure: 5 minutes

Dollywood's somewhere within driving distance but never been.

Used to have Opryland within 3 hours.

Orlando is about 6 hours away so I have all it has to offer.

Then there's the Georgia Aquarium that just opened. Some locals would argue it's a theme park.

New Orleans is about a 7 or so hour drive. I think there is a Six Flags in that area. The hotel we stayed at last year had a shuttle to a Six Flags anyway.

I wouldn't go as far as PKD or BGW, but still, that's the local parks for me.

^^ There is/was a Six Flags in New Orleans. Used to be called Jazzland. Last pictures I saw of it, the park pretty much completely underwater.

they are all around the same distance, but the two closest are Six Flags Magic Mountain, (which I never go to because they couldn't repair or update a ride from the way their rides look) and Universal Studios Hollywood, which I go all the time for various reasons, usually about 4 to 5 times a month, Disneyland maybe about 4 to 5 times a year and Six Flags about 1 time every 9 years or so.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is about 25 minutes.

Universal Studios Hollywood is just a 10 minute drive.(Burbank baby)

The Happiest Place on Earth is 40 minutes.

Knotts Berry Farm is closer at 35 minutes.

And bringing in the rear is Lego Land at 1 hour 25 minutes.

Of course these drive times vary according to the powers of the Southern California freeway system.

HUH? You do not like the SD zoo but like the LA zoo??? Wow - never thought I would see anybody say that lol. I have been to the LA zoo many times and always thought of it as the old folks home of zoos.

Anyway.........

I live in SD and I think everybody knows what is local to SD

Before the year is up we plan on getting year passes to Universal Studios and maybe Knotts.

So we never sit at home and wonder what we should do for the day We try to go to at least one of these places a week.

We have passes to Disney, Knott's, Magic Mountain, Sea World and USH. We will usually be at one of those every other weekend or so.
