We live right across from the fair so we see and attend the fair every year. I do agree with FishB with the no shade and on fri and sta good luck trying to find a place to sit and eat. But this fair is is actually cleaner than the LA county fair...parking is alot better and is cheaper. THe food is awesome but of course nothing beat sthe LA county fair with food and rides. And I can't believe you didn;t get some Funnel cake or some ribs.. Man those are liek the first two things i buy. We never ride any rides except the big ferris wheel all we do is EAT EAT EAT!!!!. Anyways im gladd you guys had fun.

I think I'm going tonight. Fair time is my favorite time! It's the number one place for people watching, too, good times.

(I like cheesy stuff, what can I say? )

DH and I were thinking of going to the OC Fair, but won't be able to this year. At least we were able to experience it vicariously through your recap.

    FB - Great pic's.

I don't know where to start with my commentary...

This photo cracked me up...especially since you gave them names. It is a bit more horror flick than cute. I think I might have nightmares tonight.

And who wouldn't have taken this lovely photo. For some reason the song "R U Lonely Tonight" comes to mind. Strange?!

    FB,

Yes, I can read your mind...ok, focus now, focus now....you are thinking...

"If this is the winter squash (the shortest growing season of the year)...I wonder what the summer squash looks like?" Hmmm!

Ok, I am on a roll...I just can't help myself.

This photo is classic. Because who didn't play innocently in the bathtub with a few little wind up toys?! BUT...you have a scuba man looking up the frog's butt, which brings to mind a few diving phrases..."Diver Down" or "Diving Buddy" or "Butt-Mounting" (Ok, I crossed the line, but I really did see this on a Diving Slang website. I am not just making this up. Meaning: Dangling the battery pack of a cannister light underneath your doubles, rather than on the right hip.)

Careful, you may fully uncover the subersive nature of all my photos. You may never look at another one of my trip reports the same way again.

Funny you should ask. Right before I took the pic of that huge beast releaving himself on the pavement we tried to see the Pig races, but it was packed full of people. That's what happens when you show up 2 minutes before showtime.

I remember going to the Ionia Free Fair when I was a kid. Admission was free but of course you had to pay for the rides and stuff.

I went to the Florida State Fair 5 or 6 years ago. Our state fair is early in the year... Feburary I think. I remember looking at the midway rides and thought, "Man, these sure have changed since my heyday." I braved one and screamed my fool head off the whole time. But they had 2 or 3 different Himalaya rides and I had to go on those. One was the HUMUNGOID kind I remember riding as a kid. Another one kept the Rocky Horror soundtrack on repeat and the guy in the booth got everyone doing the Time Warp while riding... that was weird but fun.

So you didn't force your way to the front and ask Dusty to put you up on his shoulders so you could see better?
