Okay, a couple of comments. Schlitterbahn was great, but best Landscaping for a waterpark??? Come on!!!

How did Fantasyland at DL/MK not get votes for best kids area??? I mean, granted I haven't been to any of the parks that won, but still.

Nice to see the Disneyland Fireworks show get recognized.

No no no, even better than that...Tower of Terror one of the best dark rides? Granted ToT is an excellent ride...but a dark ride?

    Re: 2006 Golden Ticket Awards

I think both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea should've been top on the list for "Cleanest Park", or is it just a North American/European thing? You have to remember that the majority of people who voted are not Disney fans, hence why Disneyland is not the best theme park. I always take this award with a grain of salt.

^ Exactly. I'm actually surprised to see so much Disney stuff this year. They are usually not represented at all.

I wonder where most of the voters are from because I can't believe anyone who's been to both could vote Universal Florida's Halloween event over Knott's Scary Farm.

I hate almost all of the theme parks nominated for best park. If it were anywhere near accurate, the top nominees would definitely be all Disney parks.

I know Amusement today is based in Pennsylvania, again kind of why I think the PA parks (While awesome) get the majority of the accolades.

    Re: 2006 Golden Ticket Awards

I hate polls like this ~ DL Anaheim ties????!?!?!? with Kennywood?????

And with "Outdoor Nighttime Production" DL has BOTH Fantasmic and the 50th Fireworks show. Doesn't look like the poll asks which of DL's two
outdoor productions or if they lump them together.

The person who put this poll together must have been inebriated.

    Re: 2006 Golden Ticket Awards

Like I said above, this award is highly inaccurate and biased. The only thing it's credible for is ranking the coasters. Cedar Point is an okay park, but I would put all Disney parks above it, except maybe WDS.

    Re: 2006 Golden Ticket Awards

^ I don't think it's credible for coasters either. Magnum XL-200 is the #3 coaster in the country???? Puhleese.

And it's funny to see TTD at #10 but no Kingda Ka. I mean, bigger isn't always better, but it's funny that there are only 2 coasters from ALL of Six Flags but 3 from Cedar Point.

The only coaster poll I find credible is Mitch Hawkers poll since it equates into the equation whether you have actually ridden a ride, when the last time you rode the ride was, etc, etc, etc.

That poll should be coming out soon.

King's Island has the best kiddie land? Whatever.
Press today is so concerned with cool vs. not cool that they're starting to forget good vs. bad. I'm not sure I'll ever be "cool", but I will always tirelessly strive to be "great". - Josh Groban

I concur with that, Mitch's poll is the best. Mmm, hopefully this year Superman in SFNE can take back from Expedition G-Force...just me wishing I know.

And on thier list Montu made it higher than SFoG's Goliath???? Yuk! No way that Montu is better than Goliath.

Right...Splash Mountain doesn't compare to either Valhalla or Ripsaw Falls.
And I'm still surprised that it didn't include Asia. Tokyo Disneyland & Tokyo Disney Sea could've made it onto the top of almost every list.
