    Universal Studios Video Part 2

The Mummy, Jurassic Park, Shrek, Water World, City Walk

It really is a nice park. A bit light on attractions, but still fun.

Wonderful, I'm a big fan of Universal in Orlando but I've never made it over to the west coast to see anything over there. One of these days I shall. The tram tour looks wonderful and makes me want to blow up that shell of a tour we have in MGM even more. Well, everything looks great except for the cars on a stick and their jaws attraction. That shark just looks pathetic. I know they can do better because the new skins on the ones in Orlando look great.

Yeah, the Tokyo Drift thing was pathetic. The sad thing is that you just know they spent a lot of time and money on the technology. Too bad that they couldn't have found a better theme for the technology and a better execution of it.

As for Jaws. I really liked that segment. It is more or less in three parts:
    1) A diver is attacked by a shark and a big pool of blood pops up
    2) The dock catches fire which draws your attention and sets you up for the surprise
    3) While you are looking at the fire, Jaws pops up just below you and scares the hell out of you.

Yeah, he doesn't look completely real, but it is still a lot of fun. I knew what to expect and still got a jolt when he popped up.

I will always remeber the first time I ever visited USH. There stuff only randomly works. On the tour where you come into the village and get soaked by the flash flood was not working, so our tour guide had to "check" the weather report. After siting there for 5 minutes it finally came on and we had to get out of there quickly before we got washed away

Great pictures! It's interesting that they sell Disney Pezz at Universal. I don't think Disney would do they same.

Re: The Dustyfishbulb's 03/17/07 UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD Trip report

Thanks for the report DustyFishies! It was nice to see
pics and video from there, since the last time I visited
was the last few months of ET.

I'll have to try going there again, someday. But, it really
doesn't look like the Mummy and the Car-puppets are
really all that worthwhile seeing. Some of the streetmosphere
looks interesting, and some of the possible tour guides , though.
At least this will save me a few bucks going there.

For what they've added, I'd rather do the WB studio tour when I go back.
Last time I did that was about 10 years ago, no flashy things like
earthquake or Kong, but both times I went I caught some live filming.
    outdoors, even!

    Great trip report

The new paint behind Shrek & Van Helsing is great. Also the streetmosphere.

The spinning tunnel was Six Million Dollar Man, Avalanche, Dante's Peak, then Mummy's Tomb.

Glad they got the parting of the red sea going. They didn't have it working for a while after they installed the King Kong bigature.

Universal put new brakes at the end splashdown to adjust to the CA summer and winter weather conditions. Haha, "Big head, little arms"

I believe WICKED is produced by Universal. That's why they have that billboard on the lot. There will indeed be a movie, but after the show has run its course.

So Shrek finally got that "ONE SHOP". Looks neat. Wonder when they did that.

I recently made a suggestion Universal should probably have made the Fast and Furious segment into TRANSFORMERS related. It continues with the "Transportation Department" theme there and what better show scene then to see 2 transformers battle .

And the tram show scenes are old but good! Definately better than Disney-MGM. I was totally sad with the Florida version.

I really hate the 25-year "The Vision Plan". YUCK

Dusty, is that Groucho Marx singing in your Part 2 video? That brought back a TON of memories!
