Hard Rock Park - Tracking the parks progress

With so much info coming out about Hard Rock Park we figured we'd just have one official thread about all of the happenings.

First off, we have our own news story about the park:

    http://www.micechat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61361

Today we also have more info and pictures from the Preview Center:

    http://www.discovermyrtlebeach.com/a...kthemepark.cfm

We will continue to update this thread and MiceChat news when new developments come out regarding the park.

And of course, the website of the park is here: http://www.hardrockpark.com/

Pumping Up the Volume At Hard Rock Park's Interactive Preview Center

Concept rendering of Preview center released by hard Rock Park

Check out the parks website - http://www.discovermyrtlebeach.com/a...kthemepark.cfm

Overall layout released by Hard Rock Park

It was several months back when I first brought Hard rock Park to the attention of MiceChatters. Excitement's building as the park continues to develop at the park's site at Fantasy Harbour in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina..

As I stated at tha time, the new theme park will boast five lands, i.e. rock environs:

    1) All Access Entry Plaza (can be likened to Main Street, USA),

    2) Rock & Roll Heaven (museum of memorabillia),

    3) British Invasion, (rides and other attractions based on British legends and their music),

    4) Lost in the 70's (rides and attractions based on the era of rock, disco and punk),

    5) Born in the USA (rides and other attractions based on the birthplace of rock and new age music),

    6) Cool Country.

So far, three coasters have been announced - Maximum RPM! - trains will resmble convertables), Midnight Rider - of the mine coaster genra - it will travel thru a lumber mill, and Led Zeppelin: The Ride - (recently reported on by ALIASd) - a 150' high flying B&M coaster - riders will rock out to the band's Whole Lotta Love as the spiral and careen above a lagoon.

Here is concept artwork of Led Zeplin realeased by the park...

Har Rock Park will also feature water rides, dark rides and an amphitheater rock stadium with a capacity for 10,000 guests.

Enjoy this additional concept artwork of the park's layout...

Re: Hard Rock Park - Tracking the parks progress

I brought this park to the attention of Micechatters several months back. I just started a follow-up thread regarding the Preview Center. Check it out. Included are some renderings released by the park that are not on the siote.

When I first discussed the park, half the posters that responded were excited from the onset...the others criticized it by saying the park sounded like just another cheap coaster park. I think we're finding this park to be of it's own brand of qulity. Wouldn't you say so, Clinksalot?

How's it going, flynibuss. If you'll look closely at the map, there is plenty of open room to expand onto both Southward and Eastward.

Dunno about 'plenty'.. that river looks aweful close! Without a scale.. can only guestimate by using the road.. if you assume that divided road is approx 75' across.. that puts the river about 750' away from the existing road. Looking at Sat maps.. it looks to be a bit over 200 yards away.. maybe like 220 (so my road estimate isn't that bad ).

Looks like a lot of light industrial around it (like that warehouse to the West at the bottom)

The stuff between it and the river are apartment buildings. The stuff there on Jesse is self-storage stuff.. and the rest appears to be light industrial type stuff.

The park isnt going to be all the land that you see. The park is going to be built around the lagoon and then there will be plenty of room to expand beyond that. Of course some of the land that is highlighted will be for parking and backstage. I think that this park is going to be soooo original and fun. Im really looking forward to it especially after seeing the preview center. I cant wait to rock at Hard Rock Park

I hope it uses more then that.. otherwise its TINY! They claim its 140 arces.. which is roughly the dimensions of the highlighted area shown previously. (and shy of 2x the size of DL)

Looking at the rendition.. the lagoon is centered in the park.. but looks like plans already cover 8 or 9 times the area of the lagoon.

If you don't know, Hard Rock Cafe is planning a theme park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The preview center opened, and I ended up getting these pics from Screamscape.com:

Anyway, I can't wait for this park to open. If I go, I'll be in Heaven!!
