Great trip report, it's fun to see my day to day spot through other eyes

Just a tiny note, the car you point out as being "The Little Rascal" car is actually from "The Mummy" - The Little Rascals car is next to it

Cool. I had the day off from work though on Thurs. Wed. they Sci-FI channel was shooting in Citywalk for "Superheroes 2". It was quite a sight to see the costumed people walking around. I'm not sure if that cabin has ever been in "Desperate Housewives". Wysteria Lane is usually closed on the weekdays.

Yeah, the cabin was used in an episode in which the son was sent to remedial school or the like and they showed exterior and interior shots of it.

I believe it is one of only three houses on the backlot that you can film inside as well as out. The other two are the Chicken Ranch from the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and the new one on Wisteria Lane (Colonial St for us traditionalists).

It used to be up near where the War of The World's and the Jurassic Park set are now located. It was sitting next to a pond/creek.

But as mentioned, it was built for the movie, "The Great Outdoors" with John Candy and Dan Ackroyd.

It has also been in the TV series Coach and Dream On (as well as numerous other cameo shots and commercials).

^ I think if you can shoot both inside and outside of the structure, it's called a practical set.

You probably notice I don't watch "Desperate Housewives" . But I did see the first few episodes, thought it was interesting. But I didn't want to be sucked into another show that I HAVE to watch every week. Did the same thing with "Heros". Just don't have the time right now

Makes me want to go to USH myself - love your report. But a 3 hour drive ... Wow ... I'm glad I live in Los Angeles because it's like a 20 minute drive for me on the freeway.
