    Talking Sfmm 9/14

I know you guys are sick of these threads but I wanted to know what to be expecting as far as crowds and lines go. I know you guys don't know for sure but your help is better than none. We planned the trip for September because we thought it wouldn't be packed. Is this true? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Not too many lines, hopefully you'll get lucky with park operations.

    Park Operations?
Do you mean they close some rides if it's a slow day?

SFMM can be hit or miss as to how many trains they run on each coaster, how well they're dispatching, that sort of thing.

    Very true.

This is slightly off topic, but I drive by SFMM everyday. I remember when the park used to be busier, you could see trains on the coasters running all the time. This past summer, you sometimes wondered if the park was even open. It is sad they don't run as many trains as they used to.

^that is very true. When we were parking last time. Many of the coasters didn't run once so we thought they were closed up until we were at the park gates and saw a train rounding the bend on X and Goliath.

Be there early, thirty minutes before opening. If you're a diehard coaster nut like me, I suggest the following:

    1. X
    2. Goliath
    3. Scream!
    4. Batman
    5. Riddler
    6. Deja Vu
    7. Tatsu
    8. Viper

That gets you on the most thrilling rides in the park, and you'll be avoiding the crowds since you'll be at the back of the park when everyone else is at the front, and then you'll be at the front when many people are just now going to the back portion.

Keep an open mind, SFMM really isn't that bad.

The level of operations at most carnivals would run circles around Magic Mountain. This year we've seen some asthetic improvements, which is nice, but the park still looks like its being run by monkeys with the IQ of mustard...
