Re: Sweetie's ridiculously short Sesame Place trip report

Uh... let me expand upon that.

This weekend my wife and I were heading to nearby Langhorne, PA to do a little shopping and we decided to try out the Sesame Place "shopper's pass."

I called guest relations before leaving home to get all the details.

We were told that we would have to pay for admission, we would get a special ticket with a stamped return time and we would have "total access" to the park for that time. When you returned your admission would be refunded.

The operator assured me there were no restrictions (regarding character greetings, shows or rides) as long as you returned on time. They also said that you did not need to "purchase" anything as you shopped.

When we arrived we got our passes (they gave us 90 minutes, thirty minutes longer than I was told on the phone, I assume this was because the park was rather busy.)

Once inside we saw the giant Rubber Duckie sitting atop the water park area:

Sesame Place used to focus more on water rides than they do today. They now have a rollercoaster, a tea cup ride and many other shows designed to have more adult appeal.

By the front gate I shopped at Finder Keepers and bought a Cookie Monster coffee mug.

Then I headed to Oscar's Garage for more shopping. On the way I passed Big Bird's nest.

    He wasn't there.

They have a pretty neat Sesame Street replica at the park:

It could use a new coat of paint, or preferably it should be redone. Doors and windows are just painted images. It would be nice if this felt a little more realistic.

    Hey! I found Ernie.

    He looks bigger in person.

    Here's a nice plastic topiary:

Toward the back of the park I found a big store (Hooper's Emporium) but I left there empty handed.

After leaving the store I saw Elmo:

He was in costume for Halloween. He is dressed like Johnny from the Karate Kid.
MERCY IS FOR THE WEAK, ELMO!

I did manage to get a picture with the boss:

    Awesome costume.

After taking the photo we darted out the gate and back to guest relations to return the shopper's pass and get our refund... with 37 minutes to spare.

They were extremely nice and told us to tell others about the shopping pass.

On the way out I noticed a cool Grauman's Chinese Theater-style forecourt with hand prints of Sesame Street characters:

Thanks for sharing your report. I was not even aware of a Sesame Street Park. I learned something new today. Yeah.

I'm with pratt on this one, had no idea this park existed. You'd think with all the detail they put into recreating Sesame Street they'd have actual real doors there.

The only Sesame Street themed park in the world actually! And right in my backyard. Sadly, being 19, it just isn't as much fun as it used to be.

Re: Sweetie's ridiculously short Sesame Place trip report

    Looks like fun!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
