This is not theme park related but I didn't know where else to put it..
I had the chance to visit this year's Kobe Luminaria holiday display in Kobe, Japan. This EPCOT's Lights of Winter in a bigger scale.
The Luminaria was first done in Kobe the year after the Earthquake, and was intended to be a positive message of Hope for the future of the city after the devastation they suffered. 4 million people from across Japan showed up. The Luminaria has become a yearly tradition with millions of visiting guests coming down on Kobe for a chance to view the display.
On average, the wait time to reach the 2-block long Luminaria is about 75 mins, and the queue is filled with people, from sidewalk to sidewalk, down three or four blocks in the adjacent area where the display is located. It's a huge thing in Kobe, and just breathtakingly beautiful to see.
