I'll be off to Florida soon for some fun filled coasters and drinking, but I had to stop by Sea World San Deigo to get my Platinum pass so I can get into Busch Gardens (Dark Coninenet/ Tampa Bay/ Africa) for "free."
The day started early with me having a nice drive down to SD as it was a holiday, there wasn't any traffic the whole way. I'm also EXTREMELY happy report that the new overpasses at the 91/215/60 interchange in Riverside is now open!
We started with a stop at the Sea Otters and htne headed over to Journey to Atlantis. it looked a lot better then i thought it would especially dealing the the fugliest woman (I use that term loosely)/ man-thing alive Donna Fry.
I had no idea how wet I would get, but it was a new credit for me so why the hell not.
These little guys were pretending to be Shamu for the day
They also played with us!
Didn't end up to wet and it was a fun ride. I love elevator lifts and the coaster part was fun.
next up was Wild Arctic. The simulator was pretty good, they used some real footage so it didn't seem as dated as many simulators despite it's age.
The Beluga's hanging out
Some Walruses playing around
I love looking at the water animals through the glass
The bears seem to love me.
Happy 25 years Penguin Encounter!
Some of them were outside too
The set of Clyde and Seymour's Risky Rescue
Some eels just floating around
The "Discovery Cove" set of the Dolphin Show
Rode JtA again and got a littel more wet then last time.
Had a free sample of beer at the Hospitality Center but it's a Busch park with busch beer so it weasn't the bext, but hey, it was free.
It was time for "Shamu Rocks!" I really really liked this show a LOT and it's definitely a must see if You're at Sea World. The show is basically the Orca's behaviors set to rock music from around the world with stunning visuals on the screens and none of the cheesiness from a standard Orca show.
I was definitely more mesmerized by the high definition screens that could move and spin independently of each other. I couldn't decide what I liked more, the screens or the behaviors! But both lead to a great experience.
The Grand Finale back flip!
