![]() | Re: TCM To Have New Disney Special and Marathons I can't wait! Over the past year or so I've been Tivo'ing random TCM airings of some of the above films that I've never seen before, but this is too cool to be true. So far I've recorded and seen Shaggy Dog, Escape to WM, Bedknobs, Candleshoe, Freaky Friday, Swiss Family, Parent Trap, Barefoot Exec, Love Bug, and Absent Minded Prof, and I absolutely will try to see everything else provided there's enough space on the hard drive. And I'm looking forward to see the documentary as well. Thank you Angie_Duke for the heads up! |

![]() | Re: TCM To Have New Disney Special and Marathons Hey - - If you missed this new documentary about Walt's live-action movies on TCM, do look for the repeat airing - - Roy Disney, Hayley Mills, Kurt Russell, Dean Jones, Dick VanDyke, Moochie, James MacArthur, Ken Annakin, Tommy Kirk, Angela, Nancy Olson, Karen Dotrice, Lesley Ann Warren, Angela Lansbury, Dick Sherman... all included in interviews. The Age of Believing: The Disney Live Action Classics (2008) Overview Dec 14, 07:00PM (4PM Pacific) Dec 21, 11:45PM (8:45PM Pacific) Dec 28, 10:30AM (7:30AM Pacific) It was great to see Walt's films getting the proper respect, naturally only from outside the company. A few glaring omissions in the Disney live-action story, notably The Reluctant Dragon and Song of the South - - but also the rebel heroes that followed in the wake of Robin Hood and Davy Crockett (Swamp Fox, Zorro, Scarecrow) - - and few other shows that might have been noted such as Light in the Forest, Summer Magic, Moon-Spinners. A nod to the many cool, inventive title sequences would have been nice. ...And why didn't Julie do it? Still and all, the very best documentary on Walt as a film-maker I have seen in some time. By and large they chose all the right titles to discuss by people who were really there! We need to see more like this. Thanks to TCM and the filmmakers for doing it. |

![]() | Re: TCM To Have New Disney Special and Marathons I did catch the first airing of the "Age of Believing" and highly recommend this to watch. But I'm really stumped as to who is the lady singing on the lighthouse and from what movie?

Hope that helps. I saw most of these movies in first-run. I'd say about 60 percent of them were eminently forgettable - but still, it's a rather interesting collection and I love TCM in general. -- Barry
