El Capitan

Hi! I have been to the El Capitan and the Soda Fountain and Studio Store once. I saw WALL-E. I really liked the little show before the movie, it was cute!

Have you ever been to the El Capitan or Soda Fountain and Studio Store? What did you see?

Re: El Capitan

I've been there to see Narnia: Prince Caspian, Wall-E, and Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Sadly I got there a little late and didn't get to se the pre-show for Narnia, but did for the other two. Certainly the chihuahua's were cute to see before the movie, but I enjoyed the pre-show for Wall-E much more.

Here is a YouTube video I posted of the pre-show that you enjoyed:

Re: El Capitan

I have seen Enchanted, 101 Dalmations (with the discussion panel) and Little Mermaid Sing a Long.

Enchanted did not have a stage show before hand they had a tent that you went to after the movie where you got to meet Giselle and some other disney princesses, have your picture taken in random sceens from the movie, or look at props from the movie.

101 Dalmations just had Cruella come out there and dance. Kinda odd.

Little Mermaid had Ariel come out and tell you how to sing a long and at the end Sebastian came out and did this crab dance.

I have eaten at the Soda Fountain a few times and it was pretty good, but I was mainly focused on getting the ice cream sundae afterwards! So good.

Nothing beats my Ursula!

I have seen Enchanted and the Little Mermaid there. Enchanted had a great tent/exhibit that was so great. It really depends on which movie is there as to which presentation is shown. I LOVE the Soda Fountain! The sundaes are so good!

Re: El Capitan

I love the El Capitan! I have seen so many movies there, I can't even remember them all. I really enjoy watching movies in the old Hollywood theaters.

My favorite memories are seeing Aladdin (one of my first “dates” in high school). The first two Pirates films and going for the Jungle Book (for the special edition release) and seeing Richard Sherman performs some of his classic songs.

Re: El Capitan

1st movie I saw there was NOT for the movie ~ it was for the tent they had set up behind the theater. The movie was the Haunted Mansion, so the movie wasn't good at all (with the exception of the special effects and the wardrobe.) But the tent out back had HUGE sets from the movie, several photo opps, acrobat/ghost performers, it was terrific.

Also saw Pirates 2 and 3 on their 1st release, set decorations in the theater and the intro to both of those movies was unlike anything else I've ever seen in any movie theater - simply astounding! and also saw the original potc movie, for a "Come dressed as your favorite character!"

Saw Chicken Little (wasn't worth seeing this at El Capitan, now I'm more discriminating in my choices at that theater now, earlier today, I passed on seeing Beverly Hills Chihuahua.)

Also, saw Enchanted last December - also with a Tent set up behind the theater! A fantastic event!.

Re: El Capitan

I saw Enchanted there. The tent behind the theater was amazing. We went during the day when kids where back in school so we had a ton of time with all the characters and performers. I would make sure to have something fun to do along with the film, it makes it so much more special.
