Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Can anyone who has been to Gatlinburg or Pigon Forge in Tennessee give us some good information as far as what to see and do? We've seen the websites, but want to hear some firsthand info, so we can plan out trip and see if we want 1 day or 2 days there.

Thanks for any and all help!!!!

Re: Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Gatlinburg is very fun! You get to see the Smokies, you can visit Dollywood, go downtown and see all the neat places and shops they have, etc.

It's been a few years since I've been there, but I remember really enjoying the Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum in Gatlinburg. There is also a Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg. The Ripley's Movie Theatre was also quite fun. It's got a selection of 3D movies to choose from. Actually, It's more like a 3D motion simulator.

Ripley's has a lot of fun stuff in Gatlinburg worth checking out in my opinion.

Check out this website for Ripley's attractions in the Gatlinburg area:
http://www.ripleys-gatlinburg.com/

But seriously, the area that all these attractions are located in is worth walking around and checking out for itself. The area is full of neat little stores and places of interest. Just park in the parking garage and walk the streets.

I would definatly recommend you park the car and walk because of how busy the area can be.

Re: Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Thanks for the info, DW.

It's just me and my parents going, and they don't want to do the Ripley's stuff. It took convincing to let them agree that we need to go to the wax museum. But they said No to Dollywood.

I know we are going to the Dixie Stampeed since my mom heard good stuff about that. But have you heard of a trolley that goes from Gatlinburg to Pigeon forge? Our neighbor told us about it, but we can't find any info on it.
