My First Trip to Hard Rock Park

In the duration of my trip to Myrtle Beach, we visited the new Hard Rock Park for the first time. Overall, I thought it was a pretty nice park. As I expected, they were not that busy. I'll start with the some of the rides:

Led Zeppelin The Ride:
Out of the whole visit, this had to be one of the best rides in the park. You start off by being broken into rows. You then enter a room with a big screen in front of you. There you watch about a 5 min. (not sure exactly) video where the band is somewhat interviewed. There are some light effects such as a strobe light. The images that appear on the walls around you give you the feeling that you are in the concert stadium. The roller coaster contains 6 loops in all. I thought it was pretty smooth. Note: In addition to your ride photo, you're also videotaped on certain parts. It is pretty funny to watch peoples reactions on video. (music is played throughout the ride)

Nights in White Satin-The Trip:
This is mostly a 3-D psychedelic dark ride. I don't really understand this ride. It had random stages that may be associated with what my cousin thought was the "twilight zone". When you first enter, you pick up your 3-D glasses and move through a corridor. You then walk across a path where...how can I explain this? It is like you are in a spinning tunnel, walking on a straight path. The illusion made you feel as if you are actually spinning. You then get it line to enter cars that sit about six people each. Through the entrance and the beginning of the ride, the song Nights in White Satin plays. It is elaborated with white sheets flowing next to you on the walls and some 3-D images. You then enter other sections of the ride that you may need to see for yourself to understand. You exit through the 70's store.

Slippery When Wet:
This is a suspended roller coaster put into a camping setting. It is more a mild coaster for younger riders more than anything but anyone could enjoy it. You will either be placed going backwards or forwards. Two people in a row. From below, you may get squirted from the cannons people are shooting. If you're looking for a mild coaster then this is for you. If not, it's not worth the wait.

Maximum RPM!:
If you have ever experienced the Italian Job Stunt Coaster, this ride is pretty much it's "sister" ride. In the queue you can sing karaoke with the one of the park workers. You will be asked if you want to participate in return of having your party moved to the front of the line. There are many songs to choose from if you decide to. When you enter the ride, you are sitting in the Coupe cars (like Italian Job). Once on the ride, you are moved onto a ferris wheel moving slowly to the track at the top. Your car is then released and the rest is all coaster. At the end there is a "car wash" where you get mildly sprinkled by water jets while you are surrounded by spinning brushes.

Eagles-Life in the Fast Lane:
The scenery of this ride is based in a sawmill. It is pretty simple. They allow two people to each row. Everyone else stays in the queue until each pair boards. When the ride begins moving the Eagles song Life in the Fast Lane is playing. This is a mild coaster as well but more thrilling than Slippery When Wet. I believe there are two chain lifts. At the end, fire blasts out of an iron figure next to you on the left side.

Those are the major attractions. The others are pretty minor, but still a lot of fun! There are some shows such as the Malibu Beach Party and Roadies Stunt Show. Roadies Stunt show was awesome!

Onto the pictures:

My embarrassing father in front of the entrance.

Me and my dad in the car near the entrance.

The Gibson store (guitar) from across the water. Slippery When Wet is behind it.

The picture they took in front of it:

Entering Rock N' Roll Heaven.

Abbey Road.

Me and my cousin with the Rockin' Bear Family (based on KISS)

The Bear Family before the Roadies Stunt Show.

After leaving the stunt show, we met Winston the Bulldog!

We broke into his house...he wasn't too happy with us.

"Keep on rockin' in the free world." - Neil Young

The taxi that reminded me of Supernanny.

The only picture I got of Nights in White Satin, sadly.

In front of the Eagles coaster was a motorcycle you could rev up!

Led Zeppelin during the T-storm...

...and after.

Oh yeah...prior to exiting we "GOT INKED"!

You have just finished reading my report on my views of Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach, SC.

This would be....

THE END!

It was $50 if you rounded it out so I think it was pretty much worth the price. They have great rides, entertaining shows, and you also have the shops which add interest.

Re: My First Trip to Hard Rock Park

Thanks for the TR.

I love the dog-house and how it has a slot for his mohawk. (For the record, I didn't catch it, Belle had to point it out to me).
