Trip Report Fun at the LA County Fair! - Page 2

I wish we had a fair that was even close to as amazing as that looks. Ours are soooo bad and sooo poor there is almost nothing. no rides, maybe 1-2 games, even the state fair is like that.

But King's Island has an Ejection Seat ride and I refuse to go on it. Heck no. Friends and my dad have tried to get me on it, but no way in heck. On that, I am with you.

And that Scooby, good god! That things as tall as you!

As for the food - funnel cakes = yummy goodness!!!!!! But they cost $7 at King's Island - so not worth it.

But it looks like you had quite a bit of fun!!! Thanks for the pictures!!!

I discovered that the monorail was torn down back in the mid 90's

Nice to see that the model train garden is still there. I remember standing watching it for hours on end, just fascinated by it.

What a fun trip report...thanks! I'm going to the fair Friday, and this just made me look forward to it more!

O-nut - I forgot all about the monorail, it's been gone for quite a few years.

Thanks for taking us along. Loved the train photos and how so many of them blended into the actual fair so perfectly. Trains and scenery below, buildings and the skyway in the distance.

Only question. Where were your friends when you needed a Scooby intervention?

Not quite sure what you mean, but soon after I won him I attempted to carry him around as proof of my awesomeness, but that quickly got old and I had to make a trip to the car to stuff him in the passenger seat while my friends stayed and did more rides. And I'm 5'9 by the way, Scooby is a full 6'0, I was basically carrying a dead body with me all night long, no fun. My 4 year old cousin loves him though, he's got a new punching bag to let out all of that pre-school angst. Scooby is currently taking a nap on my living room sofa....I know he's sleeping because I flipped him on his face.

Sorry, I should been clearer and made reference to what you said when you were being tempted by the aquariums.

Great trip report! Great job on the Scooby Doo. I always tried that ring toss, but always get nutting. What's the secret?

Great TR and pics. Deep fried pop tarts are amazing. I'm going to get at least 3 when I go to the fair on Friday night.

No secret really, in fact I wasn't even trying that hard. That's why it was so amazing when it actually stuck cause I was in the middle of telling my one of my friends how rigged these things were!

One word of advice though, make sure that you are following all the rules of whatever game you're playing. I didn't realize that there was a line that I had to be behind in order to win, I just got real lucky cause them carnies are sticklers on making sure you lose.
