Micechat's Dark Journey into the Mists of the Haunt

Being an artist, I had to flourish these pics to match the nightmarish vision that the Haunt invokes. This is a journey into the darkness that surrounded us as we ventured onward into the fog shrouded netherscape. It was an adventure that made us look into our souls and discovered a part of us all that truly embraced the darkness.

It all started like scene out of Willy Wonka. Instead of finding the proverbial golden ticket, Fishbulb busted forth with glee with a handful of day glo green stickers.

Each of us had to receive the mark before being allowed to enter the land that promised a world of dreams and hopes.

We held in awe our tickets that offered hope and escape from the world of today and awaited it's offerings.

But as we posed for our group picture, the skies opened up and the ground was rent asunder. A familiar voice boomed from the heavens saying.."Aye Mateys...It be too late ta' alter course now" It was then I realized it was all a trick in the guise of a treat. The world that we thought was a world of hopes and dreams was in truth a world of Despair and Nightmares. A fate far worse than another 4 years with Bush awaited us and there was nothing we could do but to venture forwards and hope to escape with our lives and our sanity.

Hell must be somewhat merciful because we were granted a last meal before we began our death march into the abyss. Decent meal for what it was. The main chamber was full of darkness and every offering seemed to be a mystery on what you would get. Sure the sign said Vegetarian Lasagna but what was this meat doing in it? It seemed that whatever dark power that be just went around to switch the signs and sit back and laugh at the insanity that ensued. The old adage "Well, people in Hell want Ice water but that doesn't mean they'll get any" holds true in this dining chamber as well for when I asked the chamber maid for more beverage, well I did receive it....just 15 minutes later.

We must of been sent to one of the pits of hell designated for those truly evil. While those in the main dining chamber got to eat in a cool chamber with music from the likes of Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and Oingo Boingo, we get a room close to the stoked fires of hell blasting music fit for a redneck barbecue. The dark evil overlord did show some mercy because we were granted audience with a celebrity. Just when you wondered what happened to Guns and Roses...

...Axel Rose walks into the room. Just don't ask when the long awaited "Chinese Democracy" album is coming out because he just gave me a cold hard stare.

We walk away from our last meal into purgatory were we awaited with a lot of souls awaiting to be released. The dark world's Demons went out among the masses just to tease on what horrors awaited us.

I learned first hand that it's not a good thing to try and play fetch with a hell hound because it might be your head they want to play ball with.

So we headed over towards the log ride where I ran into an old Kaman's co-worker of mine. Working in hell has not been kind to her.

We needed something to overcome the darkness and horrors that were plaguing our souls so we headed over towards a brightly lit corner of this dark world. To our surprise we found clowns.

But something told us that these clowns were not here to bring happiness and joy.

Even their greetings of joy seemed to scratch evil into our souls and dreams, much like fingernails across a chalkboard.

So yet we traveled onwards towards the center of this world to witness the yearly sacrifice of the souls that brought us so much horrors in the real world. As we approach the gathering we were surprised to find a couple of dear friends were sucked into this vortex of hell. They were supposed to be safe up north but somehow transported here. Maybe this place would be more merciful upon their souls as they have been upon ours. One can hope but as we discovered, there is no hope here...
