 | My Knott's Scary Farm trip-10/10/08 WARNING: THIS TRIP REPORT WILL CONTAIN SLIGHTLY GRAPHIC HORROR/GORE THEMED PHOTOS Drove up this past Friday morning from the Bay Area, to attend Haunt that night...left roughly at eight AM, with stops along the way at Casa de Fruta, past Gilroy, and the Halloween Club store heading into Anaheim. Casa de Fruta....       And onwards to the Halloween Club store, made some purchases for the backyard haunt...   Creepy crawlies...    And finally to Knott's, in time to have a chicken dinner and browse around before Haunt...     The horror!  Mmmm....death cakes.  Not particularly spooky candy counter.   Not yet dark when we were let in...     At the entrance to the Slaughterhouse maze      Some shots around Ghost Town...         Into the Doll Factory, my personal favorite maze...      More random shots from around Haunt...          Overall, the mazes, shows, and themed rides (Calico Mine Train and Log Ride) were excellent, but the the truly nightmarish aspect of the event was the crowds. Areas of the park, like the Bigfoot Rapids/Mystery Lodge area, were solid wall to wall people with maze lines on either side of the path. Definitely for next year, going down on a Thursday night instead will be a must. Another item of note was the set up for the Quarantine maze line, which I didn't even end up going in...the line was routed down a very narrow hall in the Arcade area of fiesta village to start, and rounded a corner to switchbacks...except for a massive flow of people seemingly ignoring the line and streaming into the start of the switchbacks, and neither that group nor the organized line really moving, with people trying to squeeze through to other parts of the park right next to it. The area was just packed and rather edging towards chaos, so I opted out of waiting for Quarantine, given the total disorganization of the entrance to the queue.

| Re: My Knott's Scary Farm trip-10/10/08 To go to Knott's Scary Farm on a Friday or Saturday is a very bad idea. Like the OP said, it can get packed. Even if you have to wake up early for school or work the next day, it is worth it to go on a Wednesday, Thursday or Sunday. |
