Maryland Renn Faire - 10/18/08

So... this Saturday we took off up to Maryland to go to the annual Renn Faire. Here are just a few pics/semi report for your viewing pleasure.

First, I got this awesome mask at one of the shops.

There were also the head pieces made out of dry flowers in this area.

Um, yeah...I took this pic after I said I was gonna snapshot random things...

This was kind of like a little "garden" where they had massages.

A lot of the shop buildings are really cool.

I'm guessing me and my little pet there are lovers?

How exciting! Elephant rides for $5 !?

I thought this was funny. Especially the "Husband Killing Daggers".

Oh wow, looky here! Some expensive fountains...

Kinda scary there...

And this is...um. I think just like a popsicle-like soild in an orange peel?

This is the best picture of the jousting I could grab through the thick crowds.

A dragon shop.

If you shot down five, you got a free beverage.

These are the slides that go through the trees in the kiddy area.

...Aaaand the castle climbing wall.

My mom bought some horns. You have no idea how many comments I heard that consisted of people saying horn-y...come on, be mature people.

Entertainment, eh?

CORN!!!!

Maypole?

Um...this one pretty much speaks for itself.

Till next year...

THE END.
I think the place is OK overall. There are a lot of shops and there is a variety of food, but a lot of the activites appeal to the younger crowd which I come to expect with things like this.

Oh, and for a little extra... These are some pics of the pretty sunset coming back to Virginia.

Thank you for reading... I hope my trip report was at least a tad bit enjoyable.

What fun! Did you buy the pig flag? Did they have them for sale??

Love the mask! That would be perfect for Halloween! Looks like a fun mellow way to spend an afternoon! Thanks for sharing with us!

Wow the fall foliage was very beautiful. The Renn Faire looked awesome, though it doesn't seem like there were many costumed people around. Or were there...?

Looks like you had fun.

I used to like visiting Renn Festivals, but my ex was so into them it was actually scary. It was beyond obsession. It got to the point where he had to drag me kicking and screaming to these things because he totally turned me off on them.

There were. It was really too crowded to take good pics.

That stinks.
At least you enjoyed it while you could.

For the most part I can't stand renn fairs. But based on those pics this one look really nice. I especially dig the village thing going on.

Wow that looks like a very fun Renn Faire!! The one we had gone to near where I live was set up in a park so it lacked the atmosphere and shops that yours had. Thanks for sharing!
