Some Micechatters take Manhattan, Massapequa and the Hamptons

Howdy folks!

Saturday morning , Ken and I hopped on a flight in San Francisco. Eleven hours later after flying into a monsoon, getting re-routed to Washington DC to refuel, flying into the monsoon again and having a Tower of Terror kind of ride and landing, we arrived at JFK airport in New York.

We rented a car and drove out to Long Island and stayed there overnight. The next morning we drove out to the Hamptons. We came to Southampton first. The mansions there were gorgeous. We arrived at the beach where it cost $40 bucks to park!

Luckily, there were only a few other cars of people there besides ourselves
and no parking attendant collecting money.

The beach was gorgeous.

And so were the waves!

I had to put my fet in the Atlantic Ocean of course so I could compare it to the Pacific Ocean. It was not quite , but just about as cold!

We got back in the car and continued driving through the rest of the Hamptons. There were so many gorgeous homes and churches...way too many to take pictures of all of them.....but these were some of my favorites.

I wish this shot had come out better. The sign says "Princess Diner" and the roof of this place looked like a giant jewel.

Pumpkins!

Mickey's house and trash can?

This is a school.

I had always wanted to see the East coast in the fall for all the gorgeous colors and I was thrilled to finally be able to do so!

Especially with this guy! : )

Re: Some Micechatters take Manhattan, Massapequa and the Hamptons

I do miss New York and New England in the autumn. I grew up on the North Shore of Long Island, having been born in Smithtown and lived a decent chunk of my life in Stony Brook.

And yes, the beaches there are terrific--just not at this time of the year.

Looking forward to the rest of this trip report. Thanks for sharing!

Peace,
Roo

Re: Some Micechatters take Manhattan, Massapequa and the Hamptons

After our Sunday afternoon, we checked into a different hotel in Farmingdale where we swam and rested for a while and then got ready to go to Jeff and Lori Beth's wedding, which was our main reason for being here. The ceremony as held outside and we didn't want to use the flash but hopefully you can get an idea of how pretty things were.

Even though we'd been at the CA wedding shindig they had, this felt like the first time I was seeing them married and I cried when Lori Beth came down the aisle. She looked radiant! Jeff was all smiles!

The vows:

After the ceremony , we went inside for the receotion which was a good thing since it was starting to get pretty cold.

The reception hall was awesome. These pictures don't even begin to do it justice. It had very much of a castle feel to it and it was like attending the wedding of royalty. The buffet , dinner and dessert we had wouldgive the Disney Cruise Line a run for the money!

The cake with a Minnie and Mickey topper of course:

Our guest table and centerpiece:

Cinderella carriage cookies:

The head table with thrones for Jeff and Lori Beth:

One fireplace:

The lights inside the draping

The other fireplace

Besides Ken and Jonathan, there were only a few other Micechatters there .Most of the guests were Jeff's family and friends from New York.

There was no greeting line , but Lori Beth and Jeff walked around and greeted everyone personally

Theresa from Micechat was Lori Beth's maid of honor

Here's a close up of Lori Beth's sparkly crown

The corsages were neat..they were made out of buttons. The ties and vest were pretty cool too.

Theresa had on high heels during the ceremony but then she changed into these.

Lori Beth was still in her low heels (at first)

Jonathan was n awe of all the food we kept being served. Here he is wondering if we were really going to have dinner even after the bufet. And we did. The choices were either prime rib, chicken cordon bleu, chicken kiev or salmon.

Uh oh, hope Laurie doesn't see this picture! ; )

We were so happy to be there and we felt honored to be sitting at the table right next to the bride and groom's.

No really special Micechat event would be complete without a magnet made by Mickey Maxx and Rixter

The dancing for the night began during dinner

But the groom and bride still had a chance to eat

Here's the other bridesmaid holding one of the bouquets. They were also made out of buttons.

There was a chmapgane toast to the bride and groom

Every time I saw these two they looked like they were up to mischief

And I caught Ken red handed with the centerpiece. Those things were awesome...they reminded me of the glow cubes from the drinks at Disneyland only much bigger!

Uh oh, if you look closely, you'll see who suddenly crashed the wedding!

I love the way Never Grow Up is peeking ovber Ken's shoulder in this picture. It was a n ice surprise seeing him there and he was the photographer .

Um, I'm not sure what the DJ is doing to the gnome in this picture. LOL

That gnome sure got around

The glow cubes seemed to get brighter as the night went on.

This is Lori Beth's brother.

You can totaly see the family resemblance.

The gnome started drinking

And dancing on the table

Then he was getting obnoxious so Jeff tried to kill him

And I tried to kill him

Success at last!

There was lap sitting going on

This is Jeff' s gorgeous friend Kelly who was one of the groomsmen

Lori Beth changed into pink crocs

Don;t they look mahvelous with her dress?

Here's Theresa petting the fake fur on my coat she was wearing

Cake cutting time

They fed each other politely

When it was time for Lori Beth to throw the bouquet , al of the ladies were invited to gather. But no one even tried to catch it! LOL

Definitely not a congres of the cons, but cute none the less

All the guests got to sign this quilt

You know it's time to get going when you dress starts glowing

Last shot of the bride and groom just before we left. I'll let you all gues what the note Lori Beth is holding says.

It was such a wonderful wonderful event and I am so glad my hubby and I were at it!

Today , we're all meeting up to go to Manhattan so I'll have more pictures tonight I'm sure!

Congratulations!

I am so happy for NNL & YoYo. Everything looked amazing and this makes me even sadder that I could not be there.

At least I got to talk to NNL for just a moment. I would have even kept talking to you on Big Thunder, but I don't think that I would still have my phone.

Thank you again PB for calling me and keeping me updated on the wedding. I wish I was there also.

Great pictures, Lori and Jeff both looked gorgeous as usual but with a little bit more sparkle. I love that the gnome got to go and party.
