![]() | Re: What were your favorite memories In Knott's Bear-y Tales? Knott's Bear-y Tales is my favorite dark ride of all time. The music really stands out in my memory. As soon as you entered Frog Forest, the music changed into the boop-boop/whistle tune that I remember so well. The hot-air balloon, the crystal ball with the western movie, the magic teapot steam, the serenading frog in the boat, the Weird Woods, making out in the Thunder Cave and the Bear family all saying "buh-bye" at the end. "Your Song" by Elton John was a huge hit at the time and the line in the song: "...or a man who sells potions in the traveling show..." always makes me think of Dr. Fox selling Weird Juice out of his wagon. I always thought that Dr. Fox just might be Crafty Coyote in disguise. That Dinosaur ride was lame and inferior from the day it opened. I'm glad it's closed now, but it's sad to think of that building sitting empty. If Knott's Bear-y Tales was still there, I'd visit Knott's Berry Farm a lot more often than once every 6-7 years.

![]() | Re: What were your favorite memories In Knott's Bear-y Tales? Memories...hmmm...being able to walk directly onto a moving vehicle with no line, the animatronic family out in front in the old car, the berry smell in the first room, the music in the frog forest, the one figure, I think towards the end of the hill downward, that looked like a woman with rollers in her hair, the whole county fair scene with the random flashing lights on the signs a la DL's twinkle trees in the hub, and the finale song with lyrics. All in all, the best dark ride EVER. OP: Would love to see pics of the figures in your collection! I have one jumping frog still wearing his numbered tank top.

![]() | Re: What were your favorite memories In Knott's Bear-y Tales? I really dont remember much from the ride, as I was about 6 when they took it out. but I do remember the Berry Family waving good-bye at the end...and every time I went on Kingdom of the Dinosaurs and saw that little alcove all I could see is the family waving. I also miss the Beary-Tales Playhouse...I always loved going thru it. WHY DID THEY HAVE TO REMOVE ALL TRACES OF BEARY-TALES?!?!?!?!?!?

![]() | Re: What were your favorite memories In Knott's Bear-y Tales? Sadly the reason why traces of the bears are gone is because cedar fair wanted to remove everything related to it.we all know cedar fair removes everything copyrighted when they buy a park. miss the bears and i will add photo's of one the figures sometime.another fellow freind/operator of mine on flickr is posting photo's of bear-y tales soon.my son already posted photo's of it himself too which is what i have in my album except the costumes of the bears. My son is working on a revival of the ride in a fan sonic the hedgehog game.along with others like spee-lunker's cave, tales of the okeefenoke, and other dark rides for a flash site.he's giving the ride a funky beat that in my opinion sounds very roaring 20's style.he said he is giving the fair a starry night with it llooking like a dance club with all the figures dancing around, crafty stealing pies, frogs jumping around, and going through all the scenes in a funky beat. he even wanted players to have the ability to go back in time of the level.for example going into the past would take you to the gypsy camp.for bad future it will be dinosaurs running around in the backround chasing bears and turning the scenes into a dino nightmare.for good future the ride is still standing and the fair becomes a theme park, frog forrest becomes frog city, crafty ends his pie stealing days, the weird woods is happy again, thunder cave is a love tunnel, the bakery is a beautiful dancing club like level with disco lights, the beautiful magic of the gypsys fly around in the air, everything just beautiful that son is thinking of for the ride as a video game level. I will notify when the game or level is finished so you guys could play my son's recreation of our favorite long gone dark ride. Here is the link to what my son's music for his recreation of the ride as a level sounds like YouTube - Sonic CD Music: Stardust Speedway (Present) my son is even thinking in a few years he wants to join disney to make rides and revive knott's bear-y tales if Disney lets him. I used to love that ride (along with the old steeple chase and soapbox derby racers) I think my favorite parts of it were the lightning tunnel (where the chain lift was) and the song that everyone sung at the end. If anyone is interested. YouTube has the complete ride though on it.
