Wild Bill's Dinner Theater CLOSED?!

I couldn't believe it. I was recently driving down Beach Blvd. in Buena Park, and was shocked to find that Wild Bill's Dinner Theater had closed up shop! Another restaurant is opening in its place.

But I have so many memories there, and I always liked it better than Medieval Times. They had way better food (mmm mmm baked beans and ribs!), and cooler tricks. Sometiems we got an Indian War Chant, sometimes Slue Foot Sue with a lasso, and always something exciting. I can't believe it's gone.

Re: Wild Bill's Dinner Theater CLOSED?!

Dude, Melmel, where ya been? It's been closed for YEARS now. They keep putting up signs about becoming some kind of pirates thing, but that never seems to get off the ground.

To be honest, I've never been to Wild Bill's OR Medieval Times.

I've never been to WB either, but the Pirate thing looks interesting.

Re: Wild Bill's Dinner Theater CLOSED?!

I heard they moved Wild Bills to the Anaheim Garden walk (hehehehe).

Speaking of which. I heard on the KOCE show Inside OC last night that the Irvine Land Company wants to re-zone prime land from Commercial to Residential so that they can build >6,000 condos and apartments. Among the establishments that would have to be relocated are the Verizon Wireless Amp. & Wild Rivers. If this is the case, OC could be down it's prime water park for a while.

Re: Wild Bill's Dinner Theater CLOSED?!

I wouldn't mind if Irvine Amphitheater and Wild Rivers went down. In the grand scheme of things, I don't think they are really earning very much in the way of profits. Also, an old enemy of mine's dad was in the upper ranks of management at Wild Rivers, so it would be a kind of sweet sweet revenge.

Besides, real estate down there is skyrocketing.

We bought our house in Foothill Ranch (about 8 miles east of Wild Rivers, down Bake Pkwy.) three years ago for $330,000. The same houses on the street without all the nice things we have (stainless steel kitchen appliances, two newly renovated bathrooms, newly landscaped backyard, granite countertops, etc) have been selling for upwards of $750,000. Rents down here for a two bedroom are running upwards of $1900 a month. And condos? About $550,000. Who would buy a condo when you could just buy the house?!

And to Morrigoon-- WHERE HAVE I BEEN?!?! I live in Lake Forest/Foothill Ranch, I go to school in Orange, and I work at Disneyland. If I go north of Disneyland, it's to drive to Los Angeles or Santa Barbara, without much stopping in between. I was apartment hunting in BP and noticed. Before that, I ain't been in BP since I last went to Knott's (see giant trip report in this forum) about six months ago, and I wasn't paying much attention.

I loved Wild Bill's

Relax dear, I'm just pulling your chain Dude, Wild Bill's is like, way up in Buena Park... I'd never get there either if it wasn't for Mrs. Knott's lovely fried chicken

And more entertainment- related businesses are being solicited to encourage visitors to stay longer in Buena Park, Hui said.

Pirate's Dinner Adventure, a themed restaurant, is due to open in December. It's taking over the location once occupied by Wild Bill's Dinner Extravaganza near Medieval Times.

The area is far from defunct, said Pirate's manager Ed Beaver, who also managed Wild Bill's. Since the former themed restaurant opened in 1991, traffic has increased significantly.

So there you have it, December.
